How indeed.

The operative truth that crept in to that statement is I don't know.

Trump is no longer arguing his innocence -- he's pitching his job performance. I'll take that metric. Recession is coming with the tariff fallout. And Trump has not done well except by FOX News and deplorable standards.

My mom is a big Trump supporter due to the strong stock market. I’m sure there’s a lot of old folks benefiting from the stock market and tying that to having a "real" businessman in the Oval Office. Old people suck.

I found it interesting in that interview that he didn't even make a pro forma "I didn't do it" argument... he jumped over that right to "that's a nice economy you got... be a shame if something happened to it".

It's could also be his attempt to send a subtle message to the wealthy that he thinks they should start shuffling their money out of the markets because his ship is going down. As pointed out, he fully believes that he alone is responsible for the market's success or failure. MAGA

Funny you mention Pizzagate. I have a group of twitch viewers upset at me because I refused to let them discuss Pizzagate in a channel I am a mod in. They wanted the streamer to provide an opinion on Pizzagate and I cutoff the discussion by dismissing it as a big hoax. Felt strange after having been deemed a Trumpster on here.

To be fair, the whole Pizzagate conspiracy thing was never mentioned by Trump. Although it was promoted by Michael Flynn Jr.. I wouldn't consider it being anti-Trump by not believing it. I would just consider that logical.

Former Trump Tower doorman supposedly knows about Trump's illegitimate child

THe Enquirer says it simply released him from his contract because they weren't able to verify the story and he's now free to tell it to whomever he wants.

Whether the doorman is credible or not I have no idea, but if the story turns out to be true (with pics and everything!) I can't imagine it matters even thismuch.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s all that baffling. Trump has been buying women all his life. Everyone he’s been married to still has a price tag hanging off them.

That's why I don't have the same level of sympathy for Melania that a lot of people seem to have. She certainly didn't marry Trump for his looks.

Are you saying that you were in the minority in that opinion around here - or just stating the simple fact that 'a number' of posters took umbrage. Which may just be a healthy cross-section that we should take pride in. I'm not sure I understand.

I guess I just don't value money that much, and am perpetually baffled by people who do. Celebrity is another factor that I just don't get.

I'm saying I was alone while a number of posters explained to me that my opinion was wrong and how it was wrong to assume she was a gold digging skank because we didn't know how hard her life was in her shitty little village and that she might actually have married for love.

The rest of the forum was silent during this exchange. It was ludicrously hilarious.

Yawn.

I've already corrected my misremembering.

You guys did drive bys while I did the heavy lifting defending all of your positions. Even Lawbeef's quote above is Kurth addressing me, not him. It was up to me to explain to Kurth why calling her a gold digger was a fair assessment.

Calling her a gold digger was the easy part, hep. When Kurth went after you I stepped in. I didn't expect you to bail when he turned his attentions to me.

I have to remember to use a picture of myself when offering condolences. And you know even that self-serving egopost probably required effort akin to pulling teeth on behalf of the White House PR team.

Side note: this is my favorite quote from a Trumper on that instagram post (in response to someone complaining about Trump pulling out of the Iran deal or something).
The economic situation in Iran is terrible, it is due to US sanctions, but the people of Iran like President Donald Trump, and these sanctions are merely to banish mullahs and clerics from Iran.

The hell? He posts a pic of himself overlaid with a quote of condolences, like it is someone else making a poignant historic remark? What reality do he and his staff live in? Of course not one sane person anywhere in the world believe in his sincerity, so I guess there is no condolences other than a postmorterm apology fro being such an asshat that wouldn't be called out, so why not have a "Hold my beer" moment?
