My x800 XT should be here within hours (hopefully not the 1 hour I'm at class). I wanna see just how well this baby can run. What game should I get? BF2? Half-life 2? Doom 3? GTA: San Andreas? Sorry, no WoW yet as I wouldn't have enough time to play it as much as I should if I'm paying $15 a month for it, so I have to wait on that one. What do you guys think? I'm leaning towards Half-life 2 at the moment.

WoW won't overly benefit. I'd go w/ HL2. It's an incredible game.

You can't go wrong with HL2. The game has some really nice looking effects in it, which with your new video card you'll really be able to look at and say "WOW".

Even though alot of people didn't like Doom3, the game still has some pretty sweet graphics, which if looking at nice graphics is something you're into, Doom3 is a good 2nd choice.

Personally, I would recommend Far Cry over DOOM3.

The first time you step outside on the island is pretty damn impressive.

But yeah, HL2 is going be totally sweet.
Maybe next year, maybe no go

HL2. If you are going to buy it online using Steam, go ahead and start your download now!

Half-life 2 is probably the best looking game currently available, and it's great fun.

HL2 and FarCry are a dead-even tie for my money. Loved 'em both equally for different reasons.
edit: I'm a big fanboy of FarCry, but i have to admit the story in HL2 is more memorable, as are the variety in its locations. FarCry's open-ness was it's big selling point for me.
further edit: If someone could someday combine the best elements from both games, I'd probably be unable to leave my computer for days.

Umm, I don't really know, most show-off games I know use ShaderMode 3.0, which your card doesn't have. :?

Joint Operations cranked to max? That'd be my bet. Maybe FarCry or Riddick and maybe GTR Fia GT. BF2 looks decent on Ultra mode at max resolution. If you had SM30 i'd say Chaos Theory would EASILY be the best choice.

I ended up getting HL2 and Riddick. I haven't even gotten a chance to install Riddick. I've been addicted to HL2 which looks FREAKING AMAZING. But I do hate Steam cause it slows my computer down. Bastards.
