I don't cry and keep up with youth but she caught me off guard and ended up with a similar opinion. I chose a different second video.AWS260 wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2019 9:32 am In an effort to keep up with the youths, I watched a few music videos by Billie Eilish, the teen sensation of the moment.I... really like her music? At the least the recent stuff I posted here. I also watched some of her videos from a couple of years ago, and they're kind of bland.Spoiler:

The new folk/death/symphonic metal album from Atlas Pain, "Tales of a Pathfinder", is an absolute blast. I heard one review describe it as "death metal by way of Disney". Tons of earworm-y melody hooks, rousing choruses, sing-along segments, etc. Sounds like Turisas meets Aether Realm by way of Korpiklaani. My favorite of the year, so far.

New Amon Amarth dropped this morning. Simply downloading it to my phone made my beard grow 3 inches this morning!

5 years later and this song still rocks. They're on my bucket list of bands I need to see.

Lots of Type O Negative for me lately.
I've heard this song hundreds of times, and it still gives me chills.

Just got tix to see this girl in October opening for Redd Kross who is opening for Melvins. Seems like the kind of music LordMortis would like:

thanks for reminding me, i gotta get tickets. they're playing two nights here, but this is Seattle and it's gonna sell out quickly (still hella annoyed for missing the Melvins/Napalm Death/Melt Banana lineup because of that)Z-Corn wrote: Fri May 17, 2019 1:21 pm Just got tix to see this girl in October opening for Redd Kross who is opening for Melvins.

Yeah, it'll sell out here too. I was pissed off last night when I couldn't get the presale code to work. I went into work late today to make sure I got tix right when they went on sale to the public.hitbyambulance wrote: Fri May 17, 2019 3:48 pmthanks for reminding me, i gotta get tickets. they're playing two nights here, but this is Seattle and it's gonna sell out quickly (still hella annoyed for missing the Melvins/Napalm Death/Melt Banana lineup because of that)Z-Corn wrote: Fri May 17, 2019 1:21 pm Just got tix to see this girl in October opening for Redd Kross who is opening for Melvins.
So excited to see Redd Kross! It's been since like '92. I hope Jeff Pinkus and Jeff McDonald are both playing with Melvins like the last tour.

The music yes, her vocals... not really. The music has that JaMC/Place to Bury Strangers/Drums, etc... reverby sound I dig on. The lyric is a good dance with the music but her vocal just doesn't work for me.
They used to put on a heck of a show from what I hear. The time I treid to see them (when I was obsessed with "Miles is Dad" in like 91? 90? I dunno. I had like 10 versions of that song) I was told after their 90 minute set they came back for a two hour encore after they ran out of their own songs they did nothing but requests... of other people's music... Anything... People screamed out songs they just started playing them.Smoove_B wrote: Mon May 13, 2019 10:08 pm 5 years later and this song still rocks. "Miles is Ded"... I can't even remember when I last listened to that song. I have to find one of like five different CDs somewhere.
I never even knew there was a video
Apparently that would be 1992 or 93...

Went to see Filthy Friends last weekend and when I walked in Peter Buck was just kind of casually hanging out by the merch table chatting with fans.YellowKing wrote: Sun Apr 21, 2019 7:57 pm The entire R.E.M. discography. They are one of my favorite bands of all time, but it's been awhile since I've revisited all of their albums.

The first Filthy Friends album is great and something any Sleater Kinney or R.E.M. fan would enjoy. The second is a bit more mellow but I'm enjoying it as well.

Such an under appreciated album. I think it's my favorite AC album and I was pretty big fan back in the day.

For some reason, I've been on a Misfits kick the last few months.

Although I do take time out to listen to Hillbilly Moon Explosion...mainly because they work with Sparky from Demented Are Go a lot.

_Flush the Fashion_ (the previous one from 1980) is pretty great, maybe my favorite. i'm currently playing through all his early 80s 'lost drug years' albums.LordMortis wrote: Wed May 22, 2019 10:28 am Such an under appreciated album. Re: What are you listening to right now?
Flush the Fashion has "Clones" which is my all time favorite AC song and probably the biggest reason I became a fan. It was the second album I bought after Greatest Hits. The later totally bummed me out because "Clones" wasn't on it. Even so I don't listen from the album end to end. I think Welcome to my Nightmare is 2nd fav... But with regard to clones, it's amazing how much I loved it but totally didn't understand it. I had not idea the huge sociopolitical statements AC was making the early 80s that are perhaps actually more relevant now than they were then.hitbyambulance wrote: Wed May 22, 2019 1:09 pm_Flush the Fashion_ (the previous one from 1980) is pretty great, maybe my favorite. i'm currently playing through all his early 80s 'lost drug years' albums.LordMortis wrote: Wed May 22, 2019 10:28 am Such an under appreciated album.
