GUTHRIE, Okla. - Two people were arrested after a traffic stop of a stolen car revealed the two had a rattlesnake, radioactive uranium, and an open bottle of Kentucky Deluxe.

The uranium hasn't resulted in charges. Guthrie police are still trying to figure out exactly what the suspects were going to use it for. There are no charges from the rattlesnake either.

"It happens to be rattlesnake season at the time, so he can be in possession of this rattlesnake because he has a valid lifetime hunting and fishing license," Sgt. Gibbs said.

Saw some local news about Trump inviting 1 business per state to DC for some BS. Our's is Litespeed Bikes. I figured Id go look at them at least online. Their cheapest closeout is $1200.00 ...a frame is also $1200.00. I saw one at over $12,000 and left quickly. So its titanium..who cares. Should come with a motor and insurance for those prices.

Nothing but the cost of install. It was under 4 years old and in warranty. They really build them as POS these days. The one here when I arrived was decades old...the next was a decade or more the next 8 years or something then 4....hoping this one is a keeper. I cant recall exactly how they went but thats about the way it was.

Loo0king at the posts it was 2016 we had to have it installed.

I only use the one with a bend in it.

USA Today
A retired jockey died when she fell onto an eco-friendly metal drinking straw which impaled her eye, an inquest heard.

Elena Struthers-Gardner, 60, who was known as "Lena," suffered brain injuries in the accident at her home in Broadstone, England.

She was carrying a mason-jar style drinking glass with a screw-top lid in her kitchen when she collapsed. The 10-inch stainless steel straw entered her left eye socket and pierced her brain.
...
The inquest heard she suffered with mobility difficulties after a riding accident when she was 21.

After a reduction in her high levels of fentanyl pain medication, she became alcohol dependent.

Due to severe pain from her riding accident which caused multiple fractures to Struthers-Gardner’s lumbar spine that caused scoliosis, she was prone to falling over, collapsing at random intervals, her wife added.
...
The cause of death was a traumatic brain injury. Recording a conclusion of accidental death, assistant coroner Brendan Allen said: “Clearly great care should be taken when using these metal straws. There is no give in them at all.

Also, no give to knives, railroad spikes, or rebar. Avoid carrying those upright in your hand if you're prone to falling.

A tragedy, but not something most people need to keep on their radar when considering using metal straws.

You'd think in a country where steak knives are borderline illegal that a 10 inch stainless steel straw would be looked at more closely.

Of course me being a parent, everything from a dull pencil to a regular plastic straw is a horrifying instrument of potential injury.

I still have the graphite mark in my left hand from catching a pencil point-first. It was fun flipping it off the edge of the table and catching it.

For the longest time I had a mark in the outside corner of my right eye where I dozed off in class (4th grade) while holding a pencil upright. I bumped my head on the pencil tip and it jolted me awake, with the pencil dangling there for a moment. I could have blinded myself if it had been a centimeter or two to the left.

Did they check her closet for John Wick?

Ok I shouldn't do jokes. Thats a horrible way to die.

Anyways as for pencil lead I was holding the point of one against the palm of my hand with the rest in my finger tips. I have no idea why. I was in 3rd grade so who knows. Some jackass buddy smacked it with a book when I wasn't looking. I had a black point of lead in there forever. I think it only disappeared about 10 years ago. I cant see it now.

EDIT: Why does this not tell me a spelling error of 'wit ha' when I miss hit the space bar for 'with a' ?

I dunno my daughter uses them and I could see her running around with a drink and straw in her hand. We do use the ones that fold in middle but I'm gonna throw out any that don't. This just kinda freaks me out...shrug. Of course I was the text book "don't run with scissors in your hand" kid as I still have a 4" x 1" scar right over my right knee cap after opening myself up real good as a dumb kid.

Plastic straws are where its at. We'll all be dead long before the Earth fails. :)

Someone should just invent a giant nipple. Would fit over the cup like the lids do and provide a nipple :)

Im in limbo. Ive done all I needed to for now. Went to normal doc Monday. Went to bones doc today. Got food stocks today. I have ZERO things planned for anytime. Im sure stuff will come up but not now. I can stay up all night or go to bed now. I can use the alarm to start fresh and early or stay in bed all day. Its strange. If my wife was here it would be really the same only with her here. So not sure what Ill do. Nothing I want to do. Too hot outside for me to do anything. Too wet now too. So here I am.

EDIT: I knew if I posted this something would come to me and it did. I forgot to pay my bankruptcy this month so far. Its early I dont have to yet but might get it that out of the way. Also I got the cheap brand Hamburger Helper but forgot the meat. Could do that. I also forgot my Benadryl I needed and something else Im forgetting. I could do all that tomorrow within a mile of each other and be home in under an hour though. If I wanted to.

For European archery? Everything is wrong. For Chinese? No idea. I know the draw isn't typical of Chinese archery, but I don't know enough about it beyond that to be sure, but some quick research suggests that the arrow is on the correct side.

It also suggests that China had numerous archery techniques.

I will say that her arm isn't straight enough. That only works with a bow with almost no draw weight.

My bedroom's ceiling caved in and now I have a 1 ft hole over my bed. This happened Friday afternoon, when I wasn't there. Now my bed is full of plaster. Looks like I have to move rooms again.

What a terrible article:
Gaston was on duty and trying to get a phone number when he came very close to losing his life. See, this is America and Gaston is a black man.

Full stop.

That’s it.

That’s the crime.
There isn't one thing in that article to actually back that up. Not one word in the original report mentions race at all. It may have been true. It may have been a factor. It happens that way every day. But was it this time? No idea. And yet those dipshits have it as their headline.
