Ya my news said something about 3/4 of all infections are in about 13 counties in 3 states..Washington, California, and New York.

With the amount of testing we’ve had available , this statistic is probably dangerously misinterpreted

FWIW, 90% of the people you see wearing gloves don't even know how to take them off without contaminating themselves anyway.

I saw someone walking around work earlier this week wearing a mask AND gloves. She probably should have been working at home if she's that worried.

My oddest mask/glove moment was when I made my Walgreens run earlier this week. Dude walking around wearing a mask had to pull it down to do facial recognition on his iPhone. I imagine putting your contaminated fingers on your garden variety paper mask isn't going to help too much.

That's not how any of this works. Wow.

When I used a glove at the gas station, I had one hand gloved, the other not. Left hand handled the gas cap and door handle. Right hand handled everything on the pump. When I was done I gingerly gripped the end of the glove and pulled it off without it touching any part of me and dumped it in the waste can there before getting back in my car. I used it for all of 2 minutes.

I expect FL to surge fast if they ever start testing extensively. Between the spring break bacchanalia, the large elderly population, and limited control efforts, it's a virus' paradise.

When I was done I gingerly gripped the end of the glove and pulled it off without it touching any part of me and dumped it in the waste can there before getting back in my car. I used it for all of 2 minutes.

If your skin is touching any part of the outside of the glove at any point, you're doing it wrong.

/edit - and to be clear, you can do step 2 with only one glove on.

My son came back from college with a bad cold and yesterday had 101.6 fever and a dry cough. A worker at a meal hall at his college tested positive, so I have an appointment today for a mobile test in FL.

FWIW, that is the method that I've been taught by at least four different trainers, two as part of medical training, two as part of biohazard training. Just imagine dipping your gloved hands in paint up to the edge of the wrist before taking them off. If paint touches your skin, you lose.

Basically your clean fingers need to sneak inside the dirty glove and take it off by turning it inside out, starting at the wrist.

Anything short of that, your just infecting your clean hand.

This is all under the assumption you really have that ‘clean hand’...

This is why the best advice is to look at your hands as dirty and just clean them.

When I went to town I didn't wear anything. I used hand sanitizer in the car before leaving each place. But that doesn't help the key I used, the door handle I opened, the steering wheel and shifter Ive touched . Not much to do. If I get it I hope I get over it for my pets. If I die at home they will all starve before someone finds our bodies in a year or so. If I survive then I probably cant get it again at least for a year.

Not much to do.

From the moment you get into your car until you're at home, think of yourself as being in the hot zone. While there you minimize what you handle and keep your hands away from your face. Getting the virus on your hands isn't a huge deal unless you move it to somewhere dangerous. As soon as you walk in the house, wash thoroughly and disinfect anything you used on the way in (door knobs, light switches.) Put the groceries away and wash again. The idea is to keep the virus out of the house and out of your body by limiting the exposure to your hands.

And if you have one, disinfect your phone.

Hate to be that guy as well but I use TP to wipe my ass pretty much exclusively. Occasionally, I'll blow my nose in a few squares but prefer actual tissue paper for that. My wife and Daughter on the other hand must be eating it because they can go through 2 rolls a day it seems like. They will adapt or starve.

I suspect most of those flushing non-flushable items are doing so because they've run out of regular TP as a result of having been unable to purchase any from Californian stores over the past week or two.

Test was fast. No one there. Gowns and gear were just flapping in the wind. Widely exposed. Smoove would have been horrified.

Don't love his cough though. They said a week for results. I suspect we will know how he is doing well before we get it back and if we were exposed as well.

And this last line of chat reminds me of the 80s when we were all out in the woods wasting a day and my friend's sister had to pee. She simply used leaves.......poison oak or ivy leaves. Poor girl was in bad shape for a couple weeks from that one.
