If Trump got coronavirus, I'm not sure whether he'd be in more danger from the virus, or from everything that he'd ingest to try to treat it.

The draft CDC guide for reopening just leaked.
They have a link to the PDF in their article. It'll be interesting to see how the final guidelines differ.

Well, 100% of the confirmed positive cases had the test just prior to being confirmed. That can't be coincidence!

At least we know that Pence is safe from being infected by Miller. There is a zero percent chance that he's ever been in close contact with a female staff membmer.

CNN
The European Union has acknowledged it allowed the Chinese government to censor an opinion piece published in the country, removing a reference to the origin of the coronavirus outbreak and its subsequent spread worldwide.
The piece was jointly authored by the EU's ambassador Nicolas Chapuis along with the ambassadors to China for the EU's 27 member states to mark 45 years of EU-China diplomatic relations.
In the original piece published on the EU delegation's website, the ambassadors wrote that "the outbreak of the coronavirus in China, and its subsequent spread to the rest of the world over the past three months" had side-tracked pre-existing diplomatic plans.
But in the version that appears on the website of China Daily, a state-owned newspaper, the reference to the origin of coronavirus in China and its spread is removed.
While the EU Delegation to China said it "strongly regrets" the change, it also admitted that it ultimately agreed for the censored piece to be published because it still contained "key messages on a number of our priority areas."
It's almost as if people are the problem.

The decision to shelve detailed advice from the nation’s top disease control experts for reopening communities during the coronavirus pandemic came from the highest levels of the White House, according to internal government emails obtained by The Associated Press.
The files also show that after the AP reported Thursday that the guidance document had been buried, the Trump administration ordered key parts of it to be fast-tracked for approval.
The trove of emails show the nation’s top public health experts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention spending weeks working on guidance to help the country deal with a public health emergency, only to see their work quashed by political appointees with little explanation.

They tested her for a reason, and that was to remove her from circulation when and if she tested positive. And now that she is positive, she is removed from circulation.
It’s clearly a great example of why we want testing.

Make no mistake. The lack of masks for Pence and Trump has nothing to do with their ignorance over testing. Instead, it's their way of communicating that (to them) this is all nonsense and wearing a mask is absurd. They know the eyes of the world are upon them and that they cannot be seen wearing the oppressive symbol of the libs. And of course, this has the desired impact because the MAGAt cultists see dear leader out and about, not wearing a mask or following the advice of the power-drunk local officials. The mixed messaging on this entire response is off the charts and it continues to undermine efforts.

Exactly. These guys sit in briefings with the top experts in the country. They heard all the facts. The decision they made to go out in public without masks is intentional politics at its most craven and evil.Smoove_B wrote: Sat May 09, 2020 10:43 am Make no mistake. I hope this isn't a trend nationwide. Central PA is rebelling against Governor Wolf's stay-at-home order which got extended until June 4th.
Two counties' sheriffs announced they will not be enforcing shutdown. Another two counties announced their intention to open despite being significantly over the threshold of new cases per 100,000. My own county, York, just announced they will not be citing anyone or enforcing the shutdown.
I think the Supreme Court's decision to not take up the case against Wolf in conjunction with the stay-at-home order being extended until June 4th for most of southern PA pretty much were the last straws for people locally. Even before that, there was a sense of "they can't arrest or cite everyone."
It'll be interesting to see what governors will do with county and local officials (let alone businesses) that disobey. There aren't enough state police to remotely enforce things, yet if the governors don't act in some manner, people will realize any future orders are toothless leading to a much lower compliance rate. Moreover, if businesses are going to open haphazardly without necessarily following guidance or planning from the state, it's a mess from a liability and safety standpoint. I would guess that means we're more likely to have Lockdown #2 Electrico Bugaloo, and that fewer people are going to comply.

Re: Corona Virus: It's a Marathon, Not a Sprint
https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-ne ... -by-trump/
Enrollment in several clinical trials of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine — including two by the University of Washington — has been anemic so far. Fewer than 260 volunteers, out of a target of 2,000, have signed up for a $9.5 million UW study being conducted in Seattle and six other sites across the country. Another multi-site project coordinated by the UW has only about 30 patients enrolled.
Researchers say enrollment in the trials plummeted after preliminary reports of possible heart arrhythmias associated with the drugs, followed by a U.S. Food and Drug Administration warning that they should be administered only in hospitals or clinical trials.
“Once that news came out, our enrollment fell almost down to zero,” said UW epidemiologist Dr. Ruanne Barnabas, who’s leading a study to find out if hydroxychloroquine can prevent infection in people like health-care workers who have been exposed to the virus.
Barnabas and other researchers say the potential risks of the drugs have been exaggerated in the heated political controversy ignited when Trump first began promoting them. Critics of the president blasted him for touting unproven medications, while his supporters have accused scientists of cover-ups and conspiracies.
Some people poisoned themselves by taking high doses of the drugs or related chemicals, thinking they would provide protection from the novel coronavirus.
Now, the randomized, controlled trials necessary to settle the debate are threatened.
“We need an adequate number of people to enroll to know what the effectiveness is with confidence,” Barnabas said.
A group of researchers at Columbia University say they are pulling the plug on a similar clinical trial, partly as a result of flagging enrollment.
“The problem with all the exposure that hydroxychloroquine has received is that at first, everybody wanted to take it… and now nobody wants to take it,” said Dr. Jon Giles, leader of the Columbia project. “It’s gone from one extreme that’s bad for science to another extreme, which is also not good for science.”
