The best idea, IMO, is to accept that you are indeed dirty - have liquid sanitizers/wipes in the car if you can (and do full wipe down when you get in) - and wash hands when you get home.... all the while picturing your hands covered in black paint.

Exactly that. They can dip the carts in boiling alcohol for an hour and I'll still be assuming that it is a rolling petri dish and act according. After all, even if the cart is sparkling clean the first time I touch a doorknob, a can, or a bag of pretzels I'm assuming I'm contaminated. To not think that way leads to laziness which leads to nose-scratching which leads to death.

So now that I'm at work occasionally, did someone eventually solve the mask/steaming glasses equation, cause this ain't workin' well for me.

The masks we use have a bendable metal strip across the bridge of the nose. I press that down and it creates a pretty good seal preventing my glasses from fogging up (mostly).

It's recommended against wearing contacts these days, as you're far more likely to touch your eyes when you're wearing contacts.

I don't have ready supply of those and they didn't do a great job. Maybe I'll try again cause a fully workday of steamed glasses is not a very good work day.

Have you tried these suggestions? I had luck with the tissue inserted over my nose. Flute-breathing works great for short term use, but there's no way you can do that all day. The dish soap one helped a bit, though I'm not sure about long term. The tissue seemed to be the only thing that worked for 30+ minutes.

I remember years ago there was a spray on liquid that kept steam from getting on your lenses. It kept rain from forming droplets on them too. In my case it was because of me riding bicycles.
Maybe it the same stuff you can get for your windshield wiper fluid.

Spit in your scuba masks works

I actually was given a surgical mask today at the doc. Ive been using a bandana. Damn I thought a bandana was hot and hard to breath in. This surgical mask has that metal piece to bend over my nose. It was very very comfortable but wow I wasn't sure I was getting air.

My grocer limits the number of shoppers allowed inside, so one usually has to wait in line -- spaced 6 ft apart -- to get in. Masks are mandatory, and there's a town cop on detail to discourage any dissent. One store has an employee assigning sanitized carts; the other has sanitizer right inside the door for DIY.

I'm not a regular glasses wearer but I've had success moving the lenses as further away from my face.

I was surprised to see not a single employee inside the Checkers wearing a mask as I pulled up wearing my mask. Maybe I won't stop at their drive thru for awhile.

I'm not a regular glasses wearer but I've had success moving the lenses as further away from my face.

I have to do this with my safety glasses when Im weed eating the yard. If I wear them right they fog up from heat. ive always done this with them. So I scoot then forward. Not sure how safe that is but I cant use them at all otherwise.

I've had some luck with doing my best to get a tight fit around my nose (the metal strip is terrific but most of my masks don't have them) and a slightly looser fit somewhere else around the rim. The best is when I can make it blow back along my cheeks under the temples of my glasses. It feels like it isn't really aimed at others but doesn't fog anything.

Crews begin painting physical distancing circles at Toronto park

Crews have begun painting circles on the grass at Trinity Bellwoods to encourage physical distancing and avoid a repeat of last weekend when thousands of people descended on the west-end park.

The city announced on Wednesday afternoon that it would paint the circles as a way to remind users about the importance of physical distancing after an estimated 10,000 people packed the park on Saturday, drawing condemnation from public health officials in the process.

The circles, which crews began painting at around 6:30 a.m., have a diameter of eight feet and are being placed 10 feet apart to ensure proper physical distancing between groups.

City spokesperson Brad Ross says that the circles are big enough for two people to lie down or three people to sit cross-legged, though he said that a city bylaw requiring that people from different households remain at least two metres apart while in parks does remain in effect and that violators can still face fines of up to $750.

The cost of painting each circle is about $12.

“People who are sitting outside the circles not physically distancing they will be asked to move on but we are not here to be killjoys. We want people to use the park. That is why we are doing this,” Ross said.

I can't even. Just... fine them or arrest them. Or close the damn park.

I've seen photos of other cities using it and it looks to help a lot, much like the little circles or Xs placed at store checkouts, etc.

I wouldn't visit that park, personally, but I think it's the best they can do 'to help'.

The circles are handy and a good idea. But instead of asking people to move on Id like to see officers carrying a large rubber hand that they just smack the shit out of someone not obeying smart ideas. WHAP!

Arkansas is having a grand ole time of reporting many new cases. The governor claims we're testing a lot more. I would think opening up the stores has something to do with it too.

Up until my a couple weeks ago the place I buy my dog meds online was taking 7 days to simply ship an order then another 7 to get to me really. But I place an order last night and today it shows its shipped. Will be here Monday. Im guessing the weekend slowed it by a day also. So they seem back to normal.

For traditional fast food? No.

For fast casual like Panera? Sure.

Most places that do free delivery have limits that are rather unattainable to hit for a person living alone (I think Burger King is $20, for example), anyway.

Not only that but some places charge a delivery fee as well so not unusual to pay the restaurant and the platform a delivery fee....Before you have to tip! My favorite Chinese place refuses to let me tip because of all the fees (it's only 1/3 a mile away). I try every time and they just tell me to keep ordering..love that place

I only get delivery from places with their own drivers. Fortunately there is plenty local that does.

At work we've don't a lot of Domino's since their scheduled delivery is usually down to the minute and they can follow directions for drop off. Impressive service even though it's sill Domino's pizza.

I'm pretty sure the key is not having delivery drivers on payroll. Family owned restaurants are awesome.

I've never actually used Uber Eats or GrubHub or the like. If I can't get delivery directly from the restaurant, I go pick it up myself.

I've been doing pickup exclusively. It helps keep the restaurant's costs down and I know precisely when I'm getting my food. All of my local eateries have contactless curbside pickup and both parties are masked, so the risk is near zero.

Big day yesterday: After nearly 3 months of lockdown, my wife and I went out to a local brew pub for a beer. It was the first time since this thing began that (1) someone else fixed us a drink; and (2) we were able to enjoy said drink without our three kids buzzing around and interrupting us!

Small steps, but it really felt good to start returning to doing normal things.
