The only book on that list that I've read is Old Man's War, and it's well worth buying.

I don't have an e-reader currently. But the girlfriend does. I'll have to point this out to her.

AND it can e-mail them directly to my Kindle. ![wub ](./images/smilies/wub.gif)
Scalzi's Old Man's War is really good, for anyone on the fence. Never read any of the other books.

Re: The Humble E-Book Bundle
Haven't read these books specifically, but I like Cory Doctorow's fiction, and Kelly Link is a good writer, but you have to be prepared for weird/surreal. I don't think she's to everyone's liking. I've seen a few titles by her in free ebook giveaways, so I'm not at all surprised she's supporting this bundle.
I enjoyed Signal to Noise, and wonder how it looks digitally.

wot?
To be fair, adolescent power fantasy tripe is way easier to write than absurd existential horror, and every community has got to start somewhere... right?
Unless one loses a precious thing, he will never know its true value. A little light finally scratches the darkness; it lets the exhausted one face his shattered dream and realize his path cannot be walked. Can man live happily without embracing his wounded heart?

Comes through as a straight PDF. Very large format so it looks great on a PC screen, pretty much unreadable on a phone and somewhere in the middle on a Fire.silverjon wrote: I enjoyed Signal to Noise, and wonder how it looks digitally.
The rest of the books Kindle over just fine.

Re: The Humble E-Book Bundle
Librarything is currently providing me with more free ebooks than I have time to read. The one I'm currently reading is a book about the Magna Carta by an amateur historian, and so far it is quite entertaining.

Re: The Humble E-Book Bundle
But wait, there's more!
We've just added five amazing webcomic collections to our latest bundle! This includes awesome works from Penny Arcade including Attack of the Bacon Robots and Epic Legends of the Magic Sword Kings; two volumes from Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal including Save Yourself, Mammal! and The Most Dangerous Game; and intelligent humor extravaganza xkcd: volume 0!
If you have already purchased the bundle, these should automatically show up on your download page. New customers can access them by paying more than the current average on the site. All five anthologies are DRM-free and available in beautiful PDF format that will work great on your computer, eBook readers, and many mobile devices.

Re: The Humble E-Book Bundle
I was interested, but I know I'd never use digital versions of them. The hardback version of the long form puzzle story would be cool, but shipping alone was $15 on it.

I can't imagine, even at my most inebriated, hearing a bouncer offering me an hour with a stripper for only $1,400 and thinking That sounds like a reasonable idea.-Two Sheds

You jammed me. I can never say no to those bundles. I’ve got about 400 ebooks on programming and can’t say no to them.Kasey Chang wrote:I bought the programming languages bundle, even though I doubt I'll see half of those languages myself.
And in banks across the world
Christians, Moslems, Hindus, Jews
And every other race, creed, colour, tint or hue
Get down on their knees and pray
The raccoon and the groundhog neatly
Make up bags of change
But the monkey in the corner
Well he's slowly drifting out of range

And every other race, creed, colour, tint or hue
Get down on their knees and pray
