Danger: Backlog getting critical.
The backlog is getting out of hand
GTA:SA, SW KOTOR 2, Sims 2 University, Dead to Rights, Beyond Good and Evil, Star Trek Bridge Commander, Shadow Vault, Incredibles, Rapala Pro Fishing, Secret of the Silver Earring, Dragon's Lair III, Hearts of Iron, Victoria, Europa Universalis II, Two Thrones, Two Thrones
And now gogamer has Bards Tale and Strong hold 2 for $20 a pop which I'll have to buy.
These games sales are beginning to kill me and I still reall want to pick up Act of War.

Whenever I have the same problem, I realize it's the "never-ending" games that cause the log jams. From your list, it's SIMS2 and GTA:SA. You could play those games forever and never see an ending.
I also find that treating games like books - playing one at a time until they're done - helps.
When all else fails...send them to Smoove. I will play them and tell you all about it.

Maybe next year, maybe no go

I was doing really good with my backlog, I hadn't bought a single game since last November. Then I upgraded our system a few weeks ago, and what started as a "pick up a new game to celebrate the upgrade" turned into a full-blown binge. In the last month I've picked up Brothers in Arms, MoH Pacific Assault, Soldiers, Warhammer Dawn of War, LOTR Battle for Middle Earth, Pacific Fighters, Falcon 4 Allied Force and Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich. I'm probably good until the next November.

During my lunch break today (SEE: Nap), I was thinking about my gaming habits of late.
I fear I'm turning into a MMORPGer...and my backlog has been a steady 5 or 6 games since X-mas.
The difference is that I'm not purchasing any new games -- all I do is play CoH.
And then last night like a true mental patient, I downloaded a EverQuest 2 trial...and promptly spent the next two and a half hours with that.

I no longer refer to it as my "backlog." Rather, it is my "collection." I've always been tempted to take a picture of my "collection" and post it, but I am too embarassed.
"The old lady told me that all the girls in the village of Annezin prayed every night for the War to end, and for the English to go away - as soon as their money was spent. And that the clause about the money was always repeated in case God should miss it."

Ditto...I have a HUGE backlog that mocks me from it's safe and secure CD caddy...and everytime I look at it, wondering which one to start, I just go "screw it, I'm gonna fire up Civ 3 again - can't go wrong with that!"dbt1949 wrote:I wish I could stop playing Civ 3.Maybe then I could get to some of my backlog.Probably not tho.Another of the "oldies" would take it's place and there I'd be again.
And I STILL have a blast, after the 456th game!
I guess when Civ 4 comes out, I should just sell all my other games to save me the psycho-damage that all those unplayed games cause me.
I will beome a single game...gamer. And that game will be called Civilization. And it will be good.
The end.

My backlog was getting deep, then I came to the realisation I was never going to play them, so I sold the 5 I had backlogged.
Much better having them gone, and if i'm ever inclined to check them out at some point, they will just be much much cheaper. I think that unlikely however as new games come and replace the old.
