I have finally solved my earbud problem. One set of tips is always too big. The next is always too small. Then I realized - I have different sized ears. The right is larger than the left. Of all the stupid things not to realize.

Have you ever considered bone conduction? I've used two different versions of Aftershockz and never want to go back to buds.

I've tried, but I can't find a set that fits my extra-sized noggin'.

I've seen the military version which is OVER top of the head, not behind the neck but I don't think they are stereo. I can order a set from China (mainly used by the serious Airsoft (tm) folks, as they are clones of military gear) with an adapter for regular audio plug, but I've got other things to spend my money on. Maybe when I got my job stabilized?

So damn sick of trying to make doctor appointments, only to be told the soonest available slot is 5 months from now.

I've been having foot pain...soonest I can get into an in-network podiatrist is July 8. Wonder Twin 7.7b is having some ongoing bowel issues...soonest the GI specialist (who he's been going to for the last couple years) can see him is June 7. Wife needs to have an in-person appointment before they can refill her meds that she runs out of in three weeks...soonest they can see her is March 9.

I get that none of these things are life-threatening issues, but hearing "sorry...just deal with it for another 4 months" over and over again has become increasingly frustrating.

i have this hoodie i got from Fleet Farm some years ago. it's lined with polyurethane foam - i honestly have no idea why i got this, since the 'skin feel' of this liner is really not very nice. anyways, the foam is now dry rotting and starting to crack and disintegrate. i have an idea to slice out each section of the foam lining and use each section as a pattern (+ 1/4 inch on each side) on new fabric and sew these new liner sections into the hoodie. there are generous 'seams' that can be sewn onto so the thread wouldn't be visible on the outside. it would be a lot of work, but could be interesting. any ideas for this? given the original purpose of the polyurethane was to provide a modicum of precipitation resistance, what would also work for that (and wouldn't feel uncomfortable)?

For a cheap and simple way of waterproofing clothing, you won't find a much better solution than good ol' Fjallraven Greenland Wax. It's what I've always used on my Barbour waxed jacket and it feels akin to wearing a personal forcefield while out and about during wet and stormy weather.

Keep in mind though, waterproofing clothing with Greenland Wax works best with clothing made from natural fibres like canvas, wool, or cotton that more readily fully absorb it. So if you're working with polyester, chances are it won't be fully absorbed and will instead end up flaking off.

For a cheap and simple way of waterproofing clothing, you won't find a much better solution than good ol' Fjallraven Greenland Wax. It's what I've always used on my Barbour waxed jacket and it feels akin to wearing a personal forcefield while out and about during wet and stormy weather.

Thanks for the wax tip. I got a Barbour jacket a couple years ago, and it's fantastic... looks great, comfortable, and totally water/wind proof. I don't have any signs of needing to rewax yet, but I'll keep Greenland in mind.

I had reservations about spending so much money on a jacket, but I don't regret it at all now. It seems like a Barbour will last forever if well cared for...and only slightly less if totally neglected.

Blade was on yesterday as I was taking lunch and got sucked in for a bit. One of the underrated Superhero movies (just the first, the sequels were meh).

In part because Stephen Dorff was a great villain. Plus, vampires. Lots of vampires.

Outside of Origin stories, the key ingredient which makes or breaks a superhero movie is the villain. It's why recent DC movies outside of the Batman movies end up so disappointing, IMHO.

e.g. Look at SpiderMan: Homecoming vs. Far From Home. In the marvel universe, the vulture is one of the weakest villains around, but by going the Tony Stark route AND casting Michael Keaton, it ended up fantastic. Keaton's Vulture was amazing and the car scene just fantastic. Then you get Jake as Mysterio. Mysterio is one of the really cool Marvel Villains, but the film just lacked Keaton's gravitas and menace.

Absolutely. I'm sure you know precisely what I mean when I describe it as feeling like you're wearing your own personal forcefield during wet and stormy weather. They don't don't call it tin-cloth for nothing. The nifty nautical origins of waxed jackets only serve to reinforce how incredibly effective waxed jackets and cloth can be for water and windproofing. They may not be cheap, but a decent, well-made waxed jacket can last a lifetime with just a little maintenance.

I've used Barbour's Thornproof Wax Dressing in the past, and while it is easier to apply and provides for a perhaps more attractive sheen, it's usually also more expensive. So for my purposes (basic water and windproofing), I find a simple annual re-application of Fjallraven's Greenland Wax to be more than adequate.

Blade was a great early example of the excitement for comic book movies allowing themselves to turn dark to reflect the comics they were adapting. It's stands as one of my favorites from a historical perspective and I would sit through it again if it was there and I was there.

A Florida musician says turning his late uncle's skeleton into a sick guitar was "the best way to honour" the man who first introduced him to heavy metal.

The Tampa, Fla., musician, who goes by the moniker Prince Midnight, says he crafted the instrument out of the medically prepared remains of his Uncle Filip.

"It's pretty metal to play a guitar made out of skeleton, I have to say," he told As It Happens host Carol Off.

I checked all those fruit infusions for water. Checked 3 stores. All of them had sucralose or stevia in them..YEECH. I couldn't find a single one that was totally unsweetened or had just sugar. Gave up. Ill use lemon juice. Sigh. Wanted some other flavors.

Try using the Find in Store link on the True Citrus web site to see if there are any local stores that carry their products (look for their True Lemon/Lime/Orange wedge products or fruit infusions if you're looking to avoid any sweeteners).
