Re: Random randomness
Just fixed that Cracker Barrel Mac & Cheese. It did not come out looking like the picture on the packaging. Didn't taste like they promised either. I love Cracker Barrel restaurants but not sure why they added their name to this product. Runny, pale, and even with the cheese packet didn't taste like cheese.
I fixed it though. I heated it an additional 35 sec to make it thicker then added salt, black pepper, butter, and a bit of both onion powder and garlic powder. Finally I tossed in some Velveeta cheese slice. This made it quite nice actually. Half way through the bowl I added....you guessed it..Franks Red Hot. Toasty.

Be careful if you are pregnant - adding salt on top of White Castle will have you retaining water like crazy!Daehawk wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 8:49 pm Sometimes I like to weird up my food. Here in the south we have Krystals and up north they have White Castle. They both have basically the same little square hamburgers called sliders. I get the WC frozen ones for my freezer.
Anyways I usually only add salt and mustard....or extra mustard. But just now I had them with salt, mustard, mayo, a ton of Franks Red Hot and topped with sauerkraut. So good.
I wonder at these times if Im pregnant.

Re: Random randomness
Saw a strange sight in the sky just now when I walked my dog. It looked like a green X-Wing with the s foils opened. I stared at and squinted and walked around. It stayed greenish in color and really looked like an X in the sky. Bright. It was like a bright dot in the center then the four lines leading out to not as bright spots at the ends of the X. The moon looked fine except brighter. I was actually starting to think it was my blood pressure as I have been out of medicine for days now. Got worried haha. Then I noticed if I looked hard at the other stars they were like an X too but white and barely visible.
In the end I concluded that it must be ice crystals aloft and that star being the brightest made it easy to see and look the way it did. The other stars were obscured a good bit though theres no clouds. But in my 52 years Ive never seen stars look like an X or one to be so emerald green. Looked like a Christmas light.
The aliens are probably like "I think we fooled him. Ya, ya we definitely fooled him he is going in"

Re: Random randomness
Dad passed back in September of 2017. Over the weekend, Mom was cleaning out his old office and found a 100GB external hard drive shoved in the back of a desk drawer. She asked me to just "give it a quick look and see if there's anything on it".
Turns out, it had backups of all the pictures from dad's phones and digital cameras that we thought had been lost. Nearly 3,000 pictures in the 2000-2012 time frame from vacations, family gatherings, kids birthdays, etc.
I've had a seriously dusty room and have got nothing done at all for work today.

Re: Random randomness
Oof.
A low-end phone store ("Boost Mobile") on the commercial strip two blocks from my house was robbed at gunpoint three days ago. Armed/violent crimes are pretty rare in this neighborhood, so it got a lot of local and police attention.
I was just now walking the dog and learned that the same place was hit again this afternoon, and someone was shot in the leg. There were at least seven police SUVs there, and a helicopter has been overhead for an hour.
My assumption is that this isn't about phones. The place never appeared to have any business anyway, and it certainly wouldn't have been flush with cash after being robbed on the weekend.
Presumably someone was selling something under the counter and that's what this is about.

Well, not metaphorically.

Re: Random randomness
Blame the vaccines and the reduction in COVID. Production was cut when nobody was driving. Now people are feeling safe ( ) and they're starting to drive again. So supply is down, and demand is up. (I've read that the storm also took down a number of refineries in Texas and across the south, which is also a factor.)

Re: Random randomness
So, an ad for "Floribama Shore" popped up in my FB feed yesterday. It brought up SO many questions.
1. Who actually watches this stuff? I mean, someone must be tuning in, otherwise they wouldn't be making it, right?
2. Facebook probably has the most precise ad targeting ever. How on earth did this get to me?
3. MTV is still a thing?
4. Wait...they're on Season 4 of this? How?
5. "Floribama"? Really?
The human race continues to baffle me.

Obviously this is something you should be watching or Facebook wouldn't have given you the ad. Listen to Mark Zuckerberg - he knows what's best for you. Time to set the DVR!

Spotify does the same thing. I use it to listen almost exclusively to extreme metal, yet I invariably get ads for "the latest release by rapper XYZ". I'm sure those ads probably hit everyone equally, but it always makes me laugh when one comes up.
