When I was in my early 20s, I started have pretty terrible, constant back pain after moving a bunch of furniture up a bunch of stairs. For 2+ years I went to physical therapists that focused on exercises for my lower back. I went to numerous doctors who took x-rays, MRIs, etc. and at one point had a doctor that was considering surgery. Then, within the span of one day, I saw two different doctors who told me the problem wasn't my back but my hips (specifically my sacro-illiac joints). I had more or less been living with a dislocated hip for 2 years. I started physical therapy focused on the hip and it was amazing. The first physical therapist I had could tell when my hips were offline, would tug on them this way or that or pull my legs, and the pain would magically disappear. It was like a miracle to me. Since then my hips still bother me at times, for instance sitting for long periods can cause it to flare up or ache, but doing the right exercises (ellipticals!) and stretches (hamstrings!) have made it completely manageable. It's amazing what a correct diagnosis can do.

Hoo boy, here's a new one.

A few days ago I noticed a rash under my right armpit, and set of red bumps.

It actually looks like shingles, but I had a full bout of shingles (on my face!) and treatment back in October, so I don't believe I'm capable of having it again so soon. Also, it doesn't itch or seep like shingles did.

Now, a few days later, I can feel and see a low but well-defined oval swelling under the space where the bumps are on my skin. It's about two inches in the long dimension.

I'm reading that it could simply be a style of rash (perhaps due to the rising heat and humidity and the fact I've been sweating more). Naturally, though, I assume that cancer has come for me at last. It has begun to hurt a little when I move that armpit (such as when typing).

Anyone have any reason I shouldn't assume I'm about to die? I'm trying to get a dermatologist appointment, but that will take a few days.

Have you tried treating it with fire? If you're especially combustible, you'll still probably die but you know what they say, if you're falling and are sure to die, might as well try flapping your arms as if they are wings.

i'm going to see the eye doctor tomorrow. My eyes went to shit a couple of weeks ago. Not my blood sugar. I'll be getting new glasses but is that all I need? Maybe my glaucoma is getting worse. Seems strange that it happened almost like overnight.

I had a tele-health appointment with a dermatologist today, and she informed me that I have a skin infection. It probably started just with a hair that turned the wrong way, but now it is centered around a cyst full of pus. In short, my armpit is a giant zit.

It's too deep for traditional zit-squeezing, so I'm going to have to go in personally and have her INJECT my ARMPIT CYST with a SHARP NEEDLE.

I am told this is a nearly painless procedure and I do not believe it.

If you play your cards right, you might end up having it filmed and then being famous when it's broadcast on the Youtube. I'd look into getting a lawyer now to secure the rights to having your fluids drained on camera.

I knew someone who got a clogged underarm pore from antiperspirant and had to see a doc for the cyst. The doctor cut it out right there in the office.

As long as we're leaning in to the Gross...

Did anyone ever have the bottom of their feet colonized by Plantar warts? When I was 19, my soles developed ten or twelve of these things in just a few weeks. The doc was surprised that I hadn't been suffering from them developing over the course of years, but they really all appeared in one summer.

He went with the freeze-and-excavate method, which did the job very thoroughly but left me nearly unable to walk while things healed up. At one point I was wearing three pairs of socks in sandals just to get around.

Anyway, Plantar warts each look like a spot on your foot has been taken over by one of those mushrooms that turn ants into zombies. It's pretty sick.

I had a cyst on my elbow that the doctor happily cut open and drained after a topical anesthetic. He asked me not to move my arm as I heard scraping of the scalpel — “That’s just your bone, so don’t move.” Made me squeamish but I didn’t dare move.

Went to the eye doctor today. Found the recent change in my eyesight is due to cataracts. Didn't want to have it done rightaway, so I basically postponed the surgery for six months.

I'm at stage three with my cataracts right now according to my doc, but I'm not noticing anything. I asked her when I would want to think about the surgery and she said "You'll know" :?. My dad got his cataract surgery in his seventies, but didn't tell us. He drove himself to the hospital, did the surgery outpatient, then drove himself home . A week or so later he did it for his other eye, again without telling us.

I'm like 6-7 years overdue to see an eye doc. Recently, my left eye has been cloudy, not sure if it's cataracts or the joy of diabetic retinopathy, where bothersome aneurisms form in the eye and occlude vision. I rather think it's the latter since my vision is still pretty sharp when I'm not focusing straight ahead.

It might be painless, but it's supposed to smell like death itself. And I concur with Smoove - you'll definitely want to document the cyst popping. People love those videos.

About 2 years ago this dumbass chick stomped on my right big toe with her high heel boot at a Supersuckers show.

Totally crushed my nail bed which caused my toenail to ingrow on both sides.

The fix was to attach this device which clamped on to my toenail and then was screwed down to shave the toenail all the way down the nail bed. The doctor then put something on the nail bed to kill the toenail in those spots.

Freakin' gruesome and still isn't completely healed after another 14 months.

My wife's toe got stepped on by a big guy once. She was 4'8" and 110 lbs and he was 6'2" and about 450 or more lbs. You could go by the month each year because on a certain month each year it would turn color and fall off like clockwork.

Saw the dermatologist!

Unfortunately for the zit-pop-loving masses, treatment involved mere injection of cortisone into the cyst. My milky pus will be absorbed back into my body rather than slathered all over YouTube.

Yum.

You should have another doctor look at it for a second opinion.

And that second opinion needs to be pop it, film it and put it on YouTube.
