I'm surprised there wasn't already a no-fly over the palace. The UK is basically a security state with cameras everywhere at this point.

Heathrow and Gatwick airports are both pretty far from Buckingham Palace, so routing wouldn't be a problem.

This article is the most bizarre example of filler content I've seen. It's entirely cogent. It just comes off as a bizarre hit piece by Citizens Against Raw Eggs. The 10 reasons you need to start avoiding tiramisu: https://moneyinc.com/10-reasons-you-sho ... -tiramisu/.

I get that it's not a legitimate site, but... It's like... heartfelt. It was the answer to the top question when googling tiramisu.

I saw a commercial on late night TV. It said, "Forget everything you know about slipcovers." So I did. And it was a load off my mind. Then the commercial tried to sell me slipcovers, and I didn't know what the hell they were. -- Mitch Hedberg

Goddamnit it! I know I should avoid opening Yahoo.com news on the day after ANY season finale of a show I’m watching ends. Every time I do, some friggin’ idiot puts up a headline with a major spoiler. This time it was the season finale for Dexter. Why the frig do they do it!? Aaargh! :x

I'm not going to name names but one OOer among us is very stinky today and the stinky is lingering in the air like it's Omicron and the few people in the office with him should be very glad no one else is in his corner of the building or they would come to realize how just long particles can stay floating even in an environment with lots of open space with heavy circulating air.

Hamsters will drink you under the table
“You just put a bottle of unsweetened Everclear on the cage and they love it,” says Gwen Lupfer, a psychologist at the University of Alaska Anchorage who has studied alcohol consumption in hamsters. They regularly down 18 grams per kilogram of body weight a day, the alcoholic equivalent of a human drinking a liter and a half of 190-proof Everclear. In the wild, hamsters hoard ryegrass seeds and fruit in their burrows, and they eat this fermenting store as it becomes more and more alcoholic over the winter. In the lab, well, they’re pretty happy with Everclear. Given the choice between water and alcohol, they go for the booze.

So I was online and saw my ISP says if I made less than $100,000 last year and if my salary was reduced by COVID (it was) I can apply to get my broadband cut to $0 per month until the federal government says otherwise. I have no idea how long this has been going on but I'm very much tempted to apply.

I sometimes feel like modern life is a nightmare.

Then I remember being young, living without heat, being homeless, eating once a day,and without a friend in the world. And I realize that modern life, for me, isn't so bad.

And then I see stories like that (including pictures from the discussion of the kid's old home) and realize that even life when I was young wasn't that bad. And that life really is a far shot from being a nightmare.

Someone's always got more than you

So don't worry about it

What has become increasingly obvious to me is how quickly things can collapse in life and how unrecoverable it can seem (or truly be) for people who were struggling in the first place. Mental illness, homelessness, addiction etc. are a one-way path for many people. But they often don't need be be. I don't have many of the answers; I'm struggling with mental health myself. But when I see someone in need, I no longer wonder, "How did it get this bad? How can you be so alone? How can you not want to fight anymore?" The answers to those questions are all too clear to me now.

I came to that same conclusion a long time ago. Probably in high school when I had my first real brush with suicide. Suicide before then was before I really had feelings about death and so it didn't register fully with me. So many people got so angry at someone so desperate to find peace, a way out of torment. Now, I get the anger and I get the desperate drive. I don't know how to ask people to be at least understanding of someone who finally found a means to relief from pain we don't understand. At the same time as someone who couldn't find their way out of their misery, they have loved ones who can't find their way to empathy for the one they have lost. Emotion and drive kinda suck.

I try not to dwell on it too much and I when I do dwell I try to move in to outlet, like listening to Frightened Rabbit or Pink Floyd. FR is a little more challenging, though, since Scott Hutchinson took his own life.

Those plastic grocery bags are easy to grab and carry until you toss them in your trunk and get home and are in a hurry.

Come'er..no no.....handle....fingers ....no ....wheres the damn handle...why isn't this working. You had handles not 10 minutes ago at the store!!!

Corporate meeting at Walmart:

Big Boss: "Smithers, we need to add $10 billion to our bottom line immediately."

Smithers: We've been working on a project to feed the homeless and apply for funds from the government, but we will need to increase our labor force by 10%.

Big Boss: "Screw that, employees are messy."

Smithers: "Uh, we could charge $6.00 for every online order less than $25.00..."

Big Boss: "Get on it!"
