I'd be on the hook for the variable costs too, which isn't something I want to do.noxiousdog wrote: ↑Mon Feb 14, 2022 10:31 am Any thoughts about using AWS? I'd think it could get much cheaper and stable than them.

Re: 2022 Server Costs and fundraising
Ok so we crossed the 1 year renewal threshold (we did two years last time - but that was before the whole world went batshit bananas). If any further donations come in I'll do what I did last time and pile it on at the end of the 1 year renewal (OVH costs the same month to month and annual if you divide it out, there's no cost advantage for some reaosn). As we get closer I will compare staying put vs the lower tiers at OVH (SoYouStart and KimSufi, same data centre and less throughput and slower SLA) which could stretch our renewal time frame out quite a bit further.
No.

Yes, much thanks again, FP. I’m sure that is a PITA to do every year (or two).
Out of curiosity, how many individual contributors were there (roughly)? Just kinda curious if we hit $2K bc of a few big donors, or lots of little to medium sized ones. Due to the size of the active community, I’m guessing the former.
