Water is slightly more dense than a human on average (997 vs 985 kg/m^3). Hydrochlortic acid is a close to 5-6% higher (1048) so it might average out to a bit higher weight depending on how much is person vs acid but not significantly higher.

Edit: That makes for a very random first post for a new page.

The real question is does a 55 gallon drum filled with ~40 gallons of acid + dropping in sectioned body parts weigh more than a 55 gallon drum that's just filled with water?

You can't fill the whole barrel with acid, you silly-billy - need to account for Archimedes' principle. We can't have acid splashing out over the top of the container!

~8 lb/gallon for water.

And different fluids with different densities change the math.

But then how do you get hundreds of gallons of acid up to the 3rd floor where the bodies are?

Exactly Unagi! Were these empty barrels she asked you to cart upstairs? I'd only be worried if they ask you to help haul jugs of acid upstairs!

But I gotta tell ya, TV has taught me the only reason you have 55 gallon drums is to either dissolve bodies in acid, or to store said dissolved bodies. Now I'm worried the kindly family on floor 3 are actually serial killers.

Trust me, you do NOT want to see me emerging sexily from a barrel. That can only end in one of two ways: a justified Stand Your Ground defense, or me slipping while trying to climb out and accidentally killing one of your pets.

I'm pretty certain based on most movies that those blue drums exist solely for the purpose of holding water so cars crash in to them in car chase scenes.

I'd be afraid that they are building and expressway off ramp into the third floor of your apartment building.

And is anybody calculating the extra ~25 pounds for the drums?

I think numbers just stick in my brain. I can't remember anyone's name, but I remember my driver's license number for 1989.

A gallon = 128 oz = 8 pounds. Have I ever actually needed to know that? I mean maybe in high school or college it was applicable at some point.

Needed to know it while backpacking through New Mexico - trying to figure out how much you could carry along with all your gear. Learned it at the age of 13 and I guess because it helped keep me alive, it stuck with me.

The lawnmower I bought last year is a 2010 model I think. The blades have never been sharpened. They are dull as bricks. I cant get it to the shop to have them sharpened and cant afford them to come out. So I need to get them off and do it myself. It turned into a Robin Williams stand up routine but wasn't a bit funny.

Will it start? FUCK no! Is the battery dead? FUCK yeah! Will my jumper cables work? FUCK no! Are they broke? FUCK yeah! Get it started and jacked up high enough. Will my wrech fit? FUCK no! Will the other wrench fit? FUCK no! Pass out while looking for wrenches? FUCK yeah! Can you find your damn adjustable crescent wrench? FUCK no! Shove it back in garage and lock it up. Lost your sharpie? FUCK yeah! Locked key in garage? FUCK yeah!

Im done. F it . Cant mow until its sharp have no way to sharpen it. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee my life.

It's kinda weird how prices work on Amazon. I can order a whole case of Shin Ramyun the spicy Korean instant noodles, for somewhere about 16 pack for $31 ($26.50 if I go subscribe and save), 18 pack for $32, or 40 pack for $68. (This is the regular "red" packs, not the premium black stuff)

But the really weird part is they are available in individual packs on Amazon Fresh for $0.99 per pack. Why would I order a box when I can get them cheaper individually?

That usually boils down to the pricier items being "sold by" third party Amazon merchants with Prime shipping vs. Amazon themselves, i.e. Amazon Fresh.

Guess Amazon doesn't want to crush all the third-party vendors. But the prices are idiotic. Really. I can walk across the street and get it cheaper in Chinatown for the larger qtys. But ordering individual packs are cheaper delivered to my house. It's just weird.

My little dog woke up in the middle of the night sick too. Not nausea but bowls it seems. So we are both on a semi fasting today. We neither one will be eating until 6pm . I went to town and got some fresh chicken breasts and white rice. A bland meal and small one at that for both of us tonight of rick and non season non salted boiled chicken.

I don't know what thread to put this in. It may be indirectly Ukraine-related, but not about Ukraine. It's not really political, but definitely involves geopolitics. It's sort of sports.

Anyway, WNBA superstar Brittney Griner has been detained in Russia for the past month, with no end in sight.
A Russian court has extended the detention of the W.N.B.A. star Brittney Griner to May 19, the Russian news agency Tass reported on Thursday, adding tension to the most dangerous moment in U.S.-Russia relations since the 1962 Cuban missile crisis.

Ms. Griner, 31, a seven-time W.N.B.A. All-Star center for the Phoenix Mercury, is being held on drug charges that could carry a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

The Russian Federal Customs Service said earlier this month that its officials had detained the American basketball player after they found vape cartridges containing hashish oil in her luggage at the Sheremetyevo airport near Moscow in February. They did not immediately release the name of Ms. Griner, who was later identified by Tass.

Ms. Griner, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, is one of several W.N.B.A. players who compete on international women’s teams in the off-season to supplement paychecks that are a fraction of their counterparts’ salaries in the N.B.A. She has played for the Russian team, UMMC Ekaterinburg, since 2014.
