When I was a kid, that soccer scene from Bedknobs and Broomsticks was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. We must have rewound that scene (VCR's were brand new!!) a dozen times in various parts and laughed for 30 minutes. Looking back on the vultures being so excited about going out to get the injured players, then being so disappointed when they were actually ok hits different when you consider why they would be so excited about going to get an injured person...

All I can say is Bless her heart. And say it in a kind and nice way not the southern thing way.. She has been around so long and in so much of the stuff Ive seen or a part of it al. Thank you Mrs Lansbury.

Her voice was unique and easy to spot. RIP

Loved her in Murder She Wrote and watched about a dozen movies she was in. The Manchurian Candidate was probably the best performance of hers that I've seen, though my favorite movies are probably Death on the Nile, The Court Jester, Anastasia and Beauty and the Beast.

Robbie Coltrane

Robbie Coltrane, a veteran Scottish-born comic and actor known for his star turns in the British crime series Cracker and the Harry Potter movie franchise, has died, his agency WME told The Hollywood Reporter. He was 72 years old.

The boisterous and decidedly eccentric Scotsman, who began his career in comedy and theater, also commanded the screen in two James Bond films during an illustrious career on both sides of the Atlantic.

That BAFTA-winning performance led Coltrane to roles in two James Bond films as he played Valentin Zukovsky in GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough. Coltrane’s other big supporting roles came as he played Rubeus Hagrid the Giant in the Harry Potter films, starting with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 2001.

He always seemed familiar to me from somewhere and I never could place it. Figured it was just Harry Potter and forgot about it...damnit it was Krull! God I love that movie. Used to play that arcade machine to death too.

Bruce Sutter

Bruce Sutter, the Hall of Famer who revolutionized the closer position and the split-fingered fastball and clinched the St. Louis Cardinals 1982 World Series title 40 years ago this week, passed away at the age of 69 near his home in Cartersville, Ga., on Thursday.

Sutter, a National Baseball Hall of Famer and one of just 14 people to have their number retired by the Cardinals, was most recently at Busch Stadium on April 7 for the team’s annual Opening Day festivities. However, he was unable to attend the Cardinals 40-year anniversary celebration of the 1982 championship team on Aug. 13 because of the lingering illness that ultimately led to his death while in hospice care.

Oh man, this sucks. I enjoyed watching him when he was with the Cubs. He was among those who defined the reliever role (after Rollie Fingers). AFAIK, he pioneered the split finger fastball.

Jim McDivitt

Known for being a courageous test pilot and dedicated leader, McDivitt commanded two of the most crucial flights in the early space race — Gemini 4 and Apollo 9.

McDivitt grew up in Kalamazoo, Mich., and graduated from the University of Michigan. In 1951, he joined the Air Force and fought during the Korean War, where he flew 145 combat missions.

In 1962, McDivitt was selected by NASA to become an astronaut. He was chosen to pilot Gemini 4 — becoming the first-ever NASA rookie to command a mission.

Considered NASA's most ambitious flight at the time in 1965, the Gemini 4 mission was the first time the U.S. performed a spacewalk and the longest that a U.S. spaceflight had remained in Earth's orbit: 4 days.

Four years later, McDivitt commanded Apollo 9 — a 10-day shakeout mission orbiting the Earth in March 1969 that involved testing the lunar landing spacecraft. It paved the way for NASA to successfully land humans on the moon four months later in July 1969.

Apollo 9 was his last trip to space. Despite his instrumental role in propelling NASA's moon landing, McDivitt himself never reached the moon. Francis French, a spaceflight historian, said McDivitt chose not to command a moon landing mission and decided to take on a management role.

RIP Leslie Jordan

Leslie Jordan, an Emmy-winning actor, writer and singer best known for his roles in “Will & Grace,” “American Horror Story” and “Hearts Afire,” has died. He was 67.

Jordan was driving in Hollywood Monday morning and crashed into the side of a building at Cahuenga Blvd. and Romaine St. It was suspected he suffered some sort of medical emergency.

Not really. People fall and hit their head and die at even younger ages. Accidental deaths can happen to anyone at any time.

One of my old coworkers was in his 30s, fell in the winter on his noggin and lost brain function within a couple of hours and he had someone get him to the hospital right away. It was truly heart breaking.

You're thinking of Sonny Bono (died in 1998). Same activity; different scenarios (as pointed out) - she died in 2009. Adjust your time crystals.
