I did not realize the Firehawk became a Marvel villain. So the goal is to beat her up and send her back to the Borderlands?

Marvel's Midnight Suns Delayed Once Again, Possibly to 2023
Marvel's Midnight Suns has been delayed a second time, and while it doesn't seem to be a long delay, we're now once again without a clear release date for the Firaxis tactical RPG.

In today's Take-Two earnings results, the publisher revealed that it has moved back the launch of Midnight Suns "to ensure the teams at Firaxis Games and 2K deliver the best possible experience for our fans."

It's expected to arrive "later this fiscal year," which for Take-Two means sometime before March of 2023, but we don't have a specific date yet. Additionally, only PC, PS4, and Xbox Series X and S players will get to jump in on that date - the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions are planned for even later.

I am super excited and almost went all in with the Season Pass (PS5), but then some some troubling first impression videos about the game being a little repetitive, at least in the beginning. I am likely to still grab it at the lower tier and then decide later if I want to add in any DLC or the pass (I like Venom and Deadpool but less excited about Morbius).

The impressions video below, which details the hollow character creation process and RPG mechanics, vapid forced dialogue sessions/social interactions at home base and literal superhero "EMO KIDS" club, all left me rather underwhelmed, but YMMV:

One reviewer I watch and generally agree with is not so hot on it... it's a long video.

A difficult game to review. Up front in the first couple of hours its fun. But then it falls apart with repetitive brain-dead missions, the battle area is so small it feels right out of mobile.
I'll check some of the more positive reviews and see how they compare.

From what I've seen (skimming only), the more negative reviews tend to like the combat and not like the down-time gameplay.

I'd like to see OO gameplay feed back before I jump in. It looks like fun but the social side seems..meh. Need to see it in action. Very curious and optimistic actually, based on the reviews.

I'm still on the fence. I will certainly end up buying it eventually, but I am not super excited for it like I should be. I want to reward Firaxis for other games they have given me... but I do not want to really encourage them to continue on games like this either. We'll see how long I can hold off.

Apparently the answer is about two hours. I just got an email from green man that they had a 16% discount... and then I bought the legendary edition. I am bad at this.

I already pre-bought the expensive version on Steam. It really doesn't matter too much to me what the game is like, they had me at MAGIK. Lol I'm a sucker for Illyana, she's been my favorite for so many years. I suspect I won't end up playing it much but it will give me something to mess with every time a new DLC is released.

I'm trying to avoid reading too much about it in advance, I don't want my first impressions to be skewed by other peoples' issues. I think it can be extra hard to do a game where you have established characters with long histories so comic fans may come in with very different expectations than a traditional gamer. That can be good or bad, I supposed, but either way will likely color people's impressions heavily.

I'm on the fence with this one. I never liked the X-Com games much, but I think that had lots to do with the overall theme. Outside of Mass Effect, I have absolutely zero interest in anything to do with Space Marines, and Marvel might be a better fit.

Watching a couple reviews, I have to admit that I'm a little surprised how clunky all the character models look. they look find in combat but all the cutscenes look last gen, at best.

The game looks fun to me. I’ve watched the first three hours of Christopher Odd’s play through and I really like what I see, from the combat to the RPG story elements. The cutscene characters are clunky, but the individual combat models and attacks/animations/effects look awesome - they didn’t skimp on that. Looking forward to playing it.

Since I have a REALLY old machine (but still barely above minimum requirements) I got the game, but it was stuttering so badly it was essentially unplayable. Then I disabled the 2K launcher and it's completely working for me now....everything on low, but working.

I posted in the Discussions for the game on Steam about disabling the launcher

That's interesting because that new 2K launcher is also making older games unplayable by certain people - games like Bioshock (for example).
