Re: Help us appease the Overlords - Ways you can help
I was being lazy for a few days there, but I sent in my rent a few minutes ago.
I've been putting back $5/month for a few years now for the annual OO fund, but I think I'm going to double that. $10/month is still less than a streaming service, and OO is far more important to me than those are.

You can have a brick outside the OO HQ (IE - somewhere near Fishpants' house.) It won't actually say anything on it, but it is your brick.

Looking like we need a “whale” to hit the target on this. Who’s the resident whale again?

I wouldn't call myself a whale, but I will admit I have never helped out the site before. I just sent something to help close that gap.

I'll keep an eye, if we need to throw some more moola in, I will later in May.

I've got >$9.000 in accounts receivable and $200 on hand. Those numbers will reverse in a couple of weeks. I figure I owe 2 cents a post because every post is my 2 cents worth.

Re: Help us appease the Overlords - Ways you can help
Minor request, if possible.
Now that we're done with the Octopus Overlords annual pledge drive, can we remove the banner? I use a dark theme because I find pure white on a monitor to be fairly painful - it's essentially staring into a light bulb for me. The forum themes don't apply to the banner, so now every page is nice and dark - except for a bright, bright strip across it.

Thanks!
I don't mind it being there, I just wish it would match the themes.

Thanks for the remider. Submitted some moola.
Looks like we are still a little low, since we need 2k, and only have 500, is that accurate?

I believe the total is updated manually, so it's only going to be accurate right after TunaTrousers updates it.

Donated. Don't know how I missed it up until this point. Chipped in about a month earlier last year.

Just noticed the funds are in CAD after I donated in USD, which will probably result in 2 conversions and whatever they skim off the top. Oh well.

Sorry guys, I can only donate a pittance this year, as I am currently unemployed. Not that I have ever been a big donor, but it will be less this year. I will post proportionally less.

Re: Help us appease the Overlords - Ways you can help
Thanks everyone - yes the donation total is updated manually so not real time. We are almost there though, I'll update again when I am back from a business trip this week.
My plan this time around is to look at what is "on sale" with our provider and get more bang for the buck (either a newer server with better capabilities for the same price, or something more affordable and extend out the renewal over a year). To do the migration I will likely get the new server online in the month of June so I can ensure I have the environment ready the way I want it and avoid the pain points I have with this one currently under the default OVH install (namely the damn root partition being far too small considering the amount of disk space on the array, and running a supported kernel on OVH - currently we are on Rocky Linux as Centos Stream was not what I wanted to maintain but I am rethinking that).
Anyhow more to come, I'll make sure you guys are updated on where we are at - I still think it's crazy that we all spend as much time on this board in the world of Internetz. Having a month of overlap between old/new will allow me to plink away at this as time allows without crunching on a weekend to make it all work.
