San Andreas was released two months ago. Of course earnings will go downhill from here. I was under the impression that virtually ALL game earnings go downhill after the first two months. Is that not correct?
Correct. However, my point was that their earnings will fall more than usual due to the 'new' edited product being undesirable because it has been censored.

Remember when Duke Nukem 3D was released in Walmart as a Special Edition with objectionable content removed? Hell, everyone I knew ran to Software Etc. and bought the 'real' version.

But in this case, the 'real' version (as people perceive it) will be extremely difficult to come by.

They'll still sell a bunch of games, but not nearly as many as they would have if this had never happened.

The thing I can't get past in this whole sordid silly tale is the fact that an eighty-five year old grannie is pissed that her 14 year old grandson is playing a game she bought him with "sex" in it. Yet the name of the game is "Grand Theft Auto" and filled with insane amounts of violence. Senile old bat ought to pay more attention to what she buys her grandson.
