You’re a closet psychopath with murder in your heart and everyone knows it.
I forgive you, my child.

Add "cross-burning" to your list of adjectives above, gah. Why do the evil always seem to like doubling down?! Weird.

Lol. This only applies if no one implies the mildest of criticisms. Then the wheels fall off. For example, see:

So have I.

I also think it's important to think of this a little like a significant other who's had a bad day. They may snap at you, but that doesn't mean it's personal. Right now, everyone in the US is having a bad day (that's lasted several years.) And much of the rest of the world isn't exactly having a picnic, either. Add a personal bad day (or bad year, in my case), and it's hard to always be positive, especially when people are being short with you.

So I try to keep my irritability in check, but I also make an effort to not take others being irritable personally, to engage too deeply with it, or to let it color other interactions with them. With exceptions for deliberate assholery, of course.
What doesn't kill me makes me stranger.

I try and it's hard. That's part of what led me to make sure to force myself into smiling happy people moments, even if they're faux smiling happy people moments. The other part is hitting an inner turmoil at times when I used to have find a sort of inner peace. Again, success and failure. Enough success that I keep doing it. Not enough to try and track measruables or anything, like I am trying to do with my physical health.

For me it's largely work stress. End of year is when everyone's project needs to be completed yesterday and they're all your #1 priority. Packing all that on top of the daily fires that need to be put out is always a pressure cooker. But yes, to Blackhawk's point, I try not to take anything personally on the forums. Trying to communicate through text under the veil of relative anonymity is always fraught with danger.

Humans squabble from time to time. Friends even more so. It’s best to accept it as a fact of life and not a failure of character, and just move on.

It is my benevolent nature that makes me rise above that though. I am an ascended being of divine nature. Haven’t you ever wondered what the H in Jesus H Christ is short for?

This is the door that the Ted Cruz loan lawsuit opened. It not hard to imagine he fund raised money, claimed a loan from whatever the source is, and paid himself out of the war chest. It pretty much what the dissent in the Supreme Court decision on Cruz's case and common sense thought was possible.

Gotta watch out for that slippery slope:
Two months after a prominent conservative activist and fundraiser was caught hosting white supremacist Nick Fuentes, leaders of the Republican Party of Texas voted against barring the party from associating with Nazi sympathizers and Holocaust deniers.

In a 32-29 vote on Saturday, members of the Texas GOP’s executive committee stripped a pro-Israel resolution of a clause that would have included the ban— delivering a major blow to a faction that has called for the party to confront its ties to groups that have recently employed, elevated or associated with outspoken white supremacists or antisemitic figures.

...

In at-times tense debate on Saturday, members argued that words like “tolerate” or “antisemitism” were too vague or subjective, and could create future problems for the party, its leaders and candidates.

“It could put you on a slippery slope,” said committee member Dan Tully.

Supporters of the language disagreed. They noted that the language was already a compromise, didn’t specifically name any group or individual and would lend credence to the Texas GOP’s stances in support of Israel.

“To take it out sends a very disturbing message,” said Rolando Garcia, a Houston-based committee member who drafted the language. “We’re not specifying any individual or association. This is simply a statement of principle.``

I was watching old Simpsons episodes and in particular the Halloween special with the Avatar spoof. In it Krusty says he's playing a fundraiser/something for the Nazi party. He then breaks the 4th wall and says "oh yeah, they're back." with a look of frustration.

That was from 2011. Sigh.

I doubt it. A non-insurrectionist House probably shared it all with the FBI long ago. This is just an 'I'm one of you' grandstanding moments.
