The other part was supposed to be the Uk leaving Europe to “rejoin” the US and an alliance with Russia. This is why you see evangelical support for trump loving on Putin.

I remember in 2016 with the Brexit poll several preachers proclaimed the Uk needed to leave Europe to continue the bible prophecy. Comes from 1990s occult Nostradamus “readers” who foresaw some sort of radical Islamist takeover of Europe and Asia requiring a Us/uk/russia alliance to save the day.

When people get angry, or afraid, or shocked, they keep clicking. Emotions can work like a drug if you know how to manipulate them. So, again, if the headline and/or video's goal is to yank on your emotions to get you to click, click elsewhere. YouTube will learn not to put that crap in front of you.

And, in general, YouTube is not the place to go for news recommendations. If you want to hear about what's going on in the world, check out the BBC, Associated Press, or Reuters. All three have YouTube channels. The videos are less exciting (because they're focused on presenting facts, not making your emotions explode into endless chain-watching.

I'm sure that somebody here will gladly suggest a few reliable YouTube news/current events channels that are more entertaining, too.

Maybe watch Al Jazeera for news? As long as it is not about Qatar or Israel, they're good news source.

And if it is about Israel, just remember that they are biased against Israel but in general they're not going to outright lie to you.

If you want advice on YouTube, don’t listen to Victoria Raverna. They are manipulated by and spread bullshit videos much worse than you.

For example, there’s no link to the source of the “bias rating” or its methodology. Or analysis beyond trying to equate Al Jazeera to CNN.

YouTube pushes engagement over news, opinion over information. One YouTube board game reviewer comments that his reviews drive engagement because any opinion, good or bad, improves his engagement and economics from how the algorithm reacts. The goal is (anti)-social behavior. And woke/anti-woke movements engage — hard — on anger and fear and hate.

And bias ratings only go so far. Want world economic information not specific to the US? Fox news will do a decent job. Want political coverage of a US election? Not so much.

CNN and Al Jazeera have their own "off the rails" topics that are pure propaganda.

Anything that tells you how to feel about something, especially before they tell you what that something is, is a huge RED FLAG.

So, here's the thing: Al Jazeera is reliable. Except when they're not. There are some topics on which they are biased.

Which topics? Israel/Palestine, for one. Which others?

Once a news organization makes the decision that their views are more important than facts, then the entire organization becomes questionable. Are most Al Jazeera stories reliable? Sure. But there are enough news sources that don't have variable ethics that I don't feel the need to read one where I have to figure out whether I'm reading the truth or not for every single story.

I seem to start out watching all the anti trump videos because I hate that guy and end up having some sites sneak in that are for trump or something. I dont mean too. Im really looking for or at anti maga stuff. Makes me feel good to rant on them.
