double sized taskbar.

Post by Punisher »

Does anyone know how to make a double-sized taskbar in Windows 11?
In Windows 10 and earlier you could just grab the top edge and drag up.
It looks like that function has been removed. Thanks [strikethrough]Apple[/strikethrough], I mean Microsoft!

Does anyone know any safe 3rd party apps that fix this? I looked and a few people recommended Explorer Patcher but a bunch of recent posts say that this caused their system to crash and Explorer to stop working properly. A few said they had to do a complete system reset so I'm not sure if I want to try that yet.

Any ideas?

You have to make a manual change to the registry (which is probably how the 3rd-party tools do it): https://www.pcworld.com/article/1961282/how-to-resize-the-taskbar.html.

Thanks, I had tried that already. It looks like it might just affect the icon size on the taskbar and not the actual taskbar.
I'm trying to get the double-height taskbar I'm used to back. I'm not a fan of the 3 dots when you have too many icons. It makes it MUCH harder for me to see and process what I have running. I usually have a bunch of icons pinned to the start menu to help me remember what I want to run as well as what's running in the background as well. It's not unusual for me to fill the existing taskbar very quickly once I start using the computer.

Yeah, just read up some more on it out of curiosity, and sounds like ExplorerPatcher is literally the only thing that can do it.
