So here is a thread to talk about Trump 2024 campaign fun. Let’s start with his most recent interview at the black journalist (NAJB) convention:

In checking online now, his campaign and chaos agents have made the full pivot to repeating TFG's words today and vocalizing that she's not Black - including posting her birth certificate.

I guess we know what the plan is.

Alright I guess this is how it’s gonna be. The Trump campaign has floundered about on how to attack Kamala Harris for more than a week and finally settled on a full-fledged attack on her race.

And someone I keep seeing more and more of, Jesse Watters, nested in there (above)

At this rate, I can only imagine what the rhetoric will be in another month.

The "funny" thing is, they referred to her as Black during the 2020 campaign.

It is kind of funny that the racist candidate is saying that his black opponent is not black.

Also I'm not totally clear who this messaging is going to resonate with. I gather (to the extent that there's logic beyond Trump's personal pathos) that in the end it's kind of a semi-traditional flip-flopper "you can't trust this person" kind of message but... I feel like people are used to seeing her as a black woman. Hard to see it resonating with anyone outside of the MAGA base.

Somewhere around 34 million Americans identify as multiracial, so maybe the news media can check in with a few of them in various cities and see what they think of his latest comments.

The Multiracial population has changed considerably since 2010. It was measured at 9 million people in 2010 and is now 33.8 million people in 2020, a 276% increase.

I think there is one part of this strategy that isn't completely insane, and that is trying to convince black voters that Kamala isn't really "one of them". If you recall there was a fair bit of outrage at the former president of the NAACP. If drumpf can convince some people of colour that Kamala doesn't deserve their vote because she deceived them, and they stay home (probably not going to vote for drumpf in any event) that would help drumpf's campaign, I guess.

Apparently that was his real jacket, and the name had been misspelled for years. The guy apparently chose never to have it corrected.
