Segal's out-of-shapeness only matters if you're in better shape than he is. And even then he'd likely win if he got ahold of you - unlike films, he doesn't need to kick, flip, jump or throw 30 punches to win a fight. An experienced martial artist - even an old, out-of-shape one - can disable an opponent fairly quickly with nothing more than a grip on their wrist or a quick blow to the right spot.

One of my favorite Hollywood stories comes from the annoying Rob Schneider of SNL fame. Years ago, he was on a set with Segal and was scheduled to talk to him about something. Segal's assistant kept telling him to wait as Segal was busy. Finally, he was ushered into Segal's trailer and sat down across from him. Segal then said something to the affect of "Sorry, I was reading the greatest script ever written". Schneider then replied, "Oh, who wrote it?".

Segal simply said, "I did".
