MNF was a Scorigami. There were nine last season, only three the year previous.

The Thursday night broadcast on Prime TV is the shittiest, laggiest, BS I have ever seen. It's like they just invented satellite TV and somebody is jamming the signal. Loading screens, failure notices, wavy picture, little circles of death. Pathetic.

I didn’t notice any of this, but my step brother was complaining about the broadcast quality until he restarted his app.

Counting his final season at Alabama, Tagovailoa has four diagnosed concussions in the past five years. Playing for the Crimson Tide in 2019, he was diagnosed with a concussion and a broken nose on the same play in which he infamously suffered a hip dislocation and fracture of the posterior wall of his hip socket.

It got better in the second half. Maybe as people started tuning out.

All he had to do was slide feet first, he had more than enough for a 1st down. He's not a careful runner.

What are the future liability implications for all of this?

10 years from now when he has serious concussion-related health problems - does/can he sue the NFL?

Sliding feet first is still problematic, particularly if you wait until the last second. It can leave the runner exposed after the tackler has already committed. There are some who are arguing to get rid of the baseball slide because the unintended consequences are making it more unsafe than other methods.

Seems better than using your head to take on the brunt of the force of the tackle. That's what happened last night.

Yeah, but that's the same for any runner - RB, QB, TE, WR.

If it were me, I'd tell him to retire. I had a bunch of concussions as a kid, then two as an adult in my 40's. Those flattened me -- memory impairment, speech impairment, cognitive impairment. Couldn't tolerate environments with a lot of noise or sources of sound. It took about 18 months of cognitive and speech therapy to get right, and even then, some things are still lost in the memory hole.

I have no idea if I'll wind up with CTE -- and my job thankfully doesn't involve large 250lb+ players coming at me regularly, engendering the risk of future concussions. I have no desire to not be able to think clearly or communicate clearly again. And perhaps the thing that I'm weighing most in this assessment is that Tua is a parent and I'm not. To raise kids (IMO) it helps to be able to as mentally healthy as possible for as long as possible. Risking more concussions and both your short-term and long-term health when you've already made millions... to me, it just wouldn't be worth it.

I'm horrible fan. I turn on the the TV and the first play I watch is a pick from Goff. Off goes the TV. I'm feeling PTSD from the Quinntricia years where I through the first few plays in the first few games of the first few years of their regime I became Lions free.

Well, damn - according to the play-by-play I'm monitoring - they (the Lions) just ended the half with a penalty that kept them from kicking an easy field goal.

Really odd - but I saw none of it go down. They were working toward the endzone and running out of time - but then it all ended with that Too Many Men penalty....

OK, seriously, who wants a NUMBER ONE draft pick QB? He will be AMAZING one day, I promise. We will even consider trading him for your backup QB.

Please contact Carolina Panthers management if interested in this steal of a century.

Cards -1 at home vs Rams (I would take Rams) Rams destroyed: Vegas +2

We shall see how I fare on these hypotheticals.
So I broke even. Not on my Bingo card was for the two LA teams to reverse roles at 2-0 and 0-2.

Steelers are the obvious answer. Not that they need one, but all they do is take other's No1 QB draft picks. You may want to just get in line before we give up on Williams and the Steelers nab em.

Eagles coaches gave away a win against the Falcons on MNF. Literally gave it away . . .

Early in the game, on third and 4 from the Atlanta 6, at 0-0, if you’re gonna go for it on 4th, why are you not running the ball? Two throws. Turnover on downs.

But worse - much, much worse - the pass to Saquon at 3rd and 4 from the Atlanta 10 with 1:43 left in the game, up by 3 and Atlanta with no timeouts. Like, really? I mean, Saquon should have caught it . . . until he dropped it. And stopped the clock. But why throw there and risk it? Made things so much easier for Atlanta. To be honest, the way the Eagles defense had played, THAT should have been two down territory. Run the ball twice. Score or get a first down or turn it over on downs up by 3 with the Falcons with no timeouts and needing to drive from inside their own 10 to get in FG range.

Stealing defeat from the jaws of victory. Terrible. 😞

I couldn’t watch the game last night because ESPN has decided that people who pay for ESPN+ don’t get to always watch MNF.

Sometimes it will be on espn+, and other times not. That is slightly enraging.

Apparently only some of the MNF games will be available on ESPN+.

According to this there are zero MNF games available on ESPN+ for the month of November.

I only have it as part of the Disney bundle, and it is a trash product.

ESPN+ also does not allow one to watch a NHL product which is broadcast on ESPN. But you can watch all the regional sports networks' NHL broadcasts on ESPN+. It's odd and confusing.

I would not. Bears offense has been abysmal in 2 games so far, there is no reason to believe it will be better. You can never rely on defense and special teams to put up points like they did vs. Ten.

It helps (or helps me) to think about ESPN and ESPN+ as two separate channels/products with two separate fees (the carriage fee that ESPN gets from cable/satellite subscribers, and the monthly fee ESPN+ gets from those subscribers).

I might die waiting for signs of optimism.

We played last year's rookie of the year QB. Our "generational" QB has yet show any signs of holding CJ Stroud's jockstrap, let alone start ahead of the fearsome Tyson Bagent. The vaunted receiving corps that the team amassed I'm sure currently ranks last in the league. The only bright spot is the kicker, who scored me 39 FF points over 2 games.

Nah, I tend to steer away from making fun of people's appearances. I like to target things like their arrogant, lying pomposity and their contention that their views of the world are unassailably correct because it came to them during a drug-fueled bender, regardless of the legality of said substance.
