This is just really bad. I can't stand Trump, but I don't want to see him or anyone else shot. And it is likely IMO that someone is going to try and retaliate from that side of things. It's just another measure of how deeply divided the country is on fundamental issues.

These people are probably all insane, but if they weren’t, I’d tell them, please. Stop. You are not helping.

Seriously these idiots are going to get trump reelected.
I’m missing the math on that. So ppl are going to vote for him bc ppl are taking pot shots at him?
He thrives on persecution and victimhood. America is a lawless wasteland. These incidents feed that.
I dunno. We're talking about people who weren't already going to vote for him, now voting for him because...potshot. HE might thrive on the victimhood of two assassination attempts, but I don't see it swaying any actual votes.
The issue is now no one is talking about his meltdown over Taylor swift nor his couch man’s confession the Haitian immigrant fiasco is a lie.
Now our brave media is asking if Kamala or Biden said anything that would provoke another madman.
Meanwhile, Trump is calling Kamala a marxist and a communist, and literally referring to her as the greatest threat our country has ever known. MAGAts are friggin' hyopcrites.

This week has been nothing but stories about Trump and Vance absolutely lying their asses off.
If you want the climax to be someone shooting nearby but then someone else maybe trying to shoot Trump but not actually shooting, I'm going to need some serious corroboration.
This sounds like tin foil hat type sentiment to me. Unless I’m misunderstanding you, you’re suggesting that this dude in the bushes with an AK a hole ahead of where Trump is golfing is . . . not there to shoot Trump? Or a Trump operative self-sacrificing to change the focus of the news cycle?
Portage County sheriff: 'Write down the addresses' of Kamala Harris supporters who display yard signs
The secret ballot was invented in Tasmania Australia. Because it wasn’t invented in the “greatest country in the world (tm)” using other countries ideas attracts Satan so we need to repeal its use to protect democracy from Kamala.
This is quite hillarious. (and may be filed away under: "They have absolutely no sense of irony")
At the townhall that Sarah Huckabilly Sanders held with Trump - she had this to say (in a jab at Harris) about how having kids keeps her humble.
queued up to the time:
So, she is trying to tell the listener that Harris is going to rallies and getting all full of herself and getting a big head... and that she doesn't go home to children who then keep her grounded and not so big-headed. She wants you to be turned off of Kamala Harris because Kamala Harris has an inflated opinion of herself and is just not a humble person. And that's gross.
She says all of this, without a drop of irony, with Donald Trump sitting to her side.
Tried to listen but I had flashbacks to her all of her constant baldface lies to the press when TFG was embarrassing the nation on a daily basis and she was the one "answering" to those embarrassments.

Yeah, Huckabee is almost up there with Trump when it comes to people who I can't listen to. I actually DID listen, and she wasn't nearly as bad as she used to be. Maybe she's matured a bit, but she used to be off the charts annoying with the lies and the general demeanor.
Also, so they are doubling down on the "childless cat lady" meme, huh? I really don't think that's a great strategy. Harris SEEMS to be the kind of aunt who's always around, loved by nieces and nephews, and hangs out maybe bc she doesn't have her own. Dunno, that could totally be a fabricated "feeling" created by her campaign, but given the background, and the typically strong family ties of non-US born folk (her Mom's Indian influence), stereotypically, I bet she is constantly around family and values that highly.

I think it's really interesting how there is seething contempt for people without kids. JD Vance oozes it but I guess she's jumping on that message now too. Seems like a totally viable platform.

Like, seriously...she has stepchildren! That actually seem to genuinely love her.
Unlike, say, Elon Musk's biological daughter that despises him.
I suspect that a big part of it is that on the far right there tends to be a view that women should be, for lack of a better term, submissive breeders. A woman without kids running to be president...deeply wrong.
Wow, I didn't even know that. Makes an already ludicrous...attack, even weaker. They must REALLY have not much else on her if that is the angle. Throw everything out there though, I guess, and hope something sticks.

This article really lays out how the bubble does it....
Iranian hackers sought to interest President Joe Biden’s campaign in information stolen from rival Donald Trump’s campaign, sending unsolicited emails to people associated with the then-Democratic candidate in an effort to interfere in the 2024 election, the FBI and other federal agencies said Wednesday.
There’s no indication that any of the recipients responded, officials said, and several media organizations approached over the summer with leaked stolen information have also said they did not respond. Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign called the emails from Iran “unwelcome and unacceptable malicious activity” that were received by only a few people who regarded them as spam or phishing attempts.

How is it almost 2025 and people still believe this crap?
These people's chosen news sources trumpet hysterical stories ten times a day for a month, and then they run a correction a single time at a slow news hour and never follow up. But the correction allows them to maintain their claim to legitimate journalism and press credentials.

Please, with the litter box thing. Make it stop. I really can’t take it. Not sure why, but this one triggers me: I know I should be steadfast in my belief in representative democracy, but for fucks sake. Should these people really have a vote?

I can't remember where I read it, but supposedly there is a kernel of truth at the heart of the "kitty litter in bathrooms for kids who identify as cats" conspiracy theory. Apparently some schools have emergency supply caches in the classrooms in the event of a lockdown due to a shooting incident or whatever. Along with things like food and water, some of them include a bucket of litter in case anyone needs to go to the bathroom before the lockdown ends. I don't have a source for that info at my fingertips, but it seems plausible enough.

That’s a “kernel of truth” at the heart of this bullshit? No. I understand what you’re getting at, but no. Hard stop. There is NO truth there. Not even a kernel.
It would be like saying that because someone has a hockey mask in their house they are Michael Meyers from Friday the 13th. Ok, that’s a terrible simile, but I’m hard pressed to even come up with something comparably stupid and untruthful as this cat litter thing.
This isn’t complicated in any way. It’s just a lie. And an obvious and outrageous one. And people are just so stupidly credulous and/or brainwashed that they are buying it. It’s insane.

The litter box in my kitchen inspires horror when Warren's Wall of Piss breaks the seal. So I totally get this. If President Trump will truly contain the Wall of Piss, that's more than Kamala's administration can possibly give me.

I wasn't trying to excuse anything. I just found it interesting that there seems to be an actual, identifiable point of origin for the myth. YMMV.

The kitty litter myth in bathrooms was started a billion years ago and is just a lie.... to hurt people. Can you imagine janitorial staff being told to clean up human waste in a litter box (for starters)?
There is however truth to the idea of Safety Buckets now being in classrooms - with supplies for a lockdown (candy for diabetics, first aid kits, flashlight) - and they also have kitty litter so the bucket can double as a temp bathroom if needed during a lockdown.
Ah, well, if the myth came first then perhaps the Safety Bucket explanation is just a retcon that someone came up with to try and make some tiny bit of sense of the nonsense. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Safety Bucket explanation is needed when you have MAGA school staff whispering in the GOP's ear that there is absolutely truth to the kitty-litter in classrooms "Myth".
The whole furry thing is an extension of transphobia. Because it's not a leap that if you want to identify as a female, you may want to identify as a cat, right? There are "furries" - kids who are into anthropomorphized animals, but what is really just a cosplay interest has been perverted by the transphobia crowd into it being some sort of sexual identity.

What's not to get.
In my defense, I'm a dirty foreigner and haven't been closely monitoring the whole kitty litter front of the MAGA culture wars.

As a cosplayer myself - more power to those furries. I can't even imagine how hot it is in those things. I'm hot enough when I throw on a basic cloth-based costume.
