Mongolian folk metal band The Hu covers Iton Maiden’s “The Trooper”

When darkness veils the world, four Warriors of Light shall come.

Had no idea folk metal was even a thing...

Now for a twist. I've never heard of this Australian band the Easybeats, but the Mona Lisa Twins strike again by covering one of their songs..

🎶 A whole new world… 🎶 lol Folk Metal is amazing.

For me, nothing will ever top this folk metal cover from Turisas.

I have the Easybeats version on Spotify. You can tell it's the Sixties by "spend my bread."

So, how does it compare to the original? I've never come across the song before.

It is well executed but no real improvement.

Wow. That was a big rock song locally growing up and then stuck around as a big classic rock song. It was played on AOR long long after it should have relegated to oldies, probably because it had a protopunk feel to it that sustained in the 70s and 80s and was anthemic for bringing in the weekends.

I don't remember ever hearing it on the radio while growing up in the 80's and 90's, and I used to listen to the radio a lot back then.

Woah, The Sword got back together! At least long enough to record this killer cover of Tull’s “Locomotive Breath”.

A rocking rendition of an underrated George Harrison song.

Having a Deahawk moment. How is she possibly in her mid 40s?

:) She's a long-time crush of mine too. Haven't really seen much of her lately (we used to be friends), so I was excited with the algorithm served this up. It's like it knew I was (1) a middle aged dad and (2) into Kristen Bell.

It's been out for years, but I was relistening to Colin Meloy sings Morrisey the other day and was quickly reminded why it's one of my favorite albums.

Master of his domain.

Dang, I need to track down that Colin Meloy, hepcat. I had no clue that was a thing.

Speaking of things I had no clue about until today, here's Pearl Jam covering The Beatles "I've Got a Feeling." While they've covered this live quite a bit, this was a studio track that was only included on the Japanese version of Ten.
