My college junior son voted for president last week for the first time.*

He was wholly unenthusiastic about his options. I asked him who he would have been excited to vote for. His answer: Pete Butigeig.

He’s not all that politically aware, so I thought that was interesting.

*To be clear, he carefully filled out his mail-in ballot. As of yesterday, it’s still sitting in his room at school apparently. I wonder how many kids his age (or others) fill out their ballots and never get around to mailing them or dropping them off.

I see that in people who are far removed from young. One friend in Indiana will be writing in her husband, or perhaps one of her favorite podcasters, because she clearly can't vote for someone as horrible as Trump but also can't vote for any Democrat because abortion.
