Warcraft 1, 2, 3 remaster
That there title says it all. Available now, $39 for all three. It's a little tempting, but at that price I'd be waiting until I was ready to install and start clicking before I considered dropping the cash. Although to be fair, $13 for each game isn't an awful price. And if you already own the WC3 remaster from a few years ago, the bundle is discounted to account for that (it's $20.) It turns out you can also buy the games individually.
/edit - forgot the actual video.
/edit Mk2 - On Battle.net.

Sorry, Battle.net. I forgot that Blizzard has relaxed their 'Bnet only' policies recently. They've stuck to their own store for so long that it didn't even occur to me.

I'm playing the Starcraft/Starcraft II remasters on GamePass now. I may pick this up when I'm done with those.

I haven't played 2 yet, but I'm having fun with Starcraft 1.Pyperkub wrote:How's are the Starcraft remasters?
You just really have to temper your expectations. While it's a slight graphical remaster, it's not a complete overhaul. So all the trappings of an ancient RTS are still there - absolutely horrible pathfinding, glacially slow unit and build times, very simple options and levels. I'm still having fun with it because it's Starcraft, but it shows its age.
SC2 appears from videos to be the far superior remaster, and it's by far the better game, so I've been going back and forth between finishing the original or just ditching it and jumping into SC2.

Re: Warcraft 1, 2, 3 remaster
Starcraft came out midway through the RTS revolution of the late 90s, when many of the quality-of-life features we know and love had already been figured out. WC1 and WC2 were much earlier in that era (only a few years, but back then, that was significant.)

Regular Starcraft remaster supports higher res monitors and widescreen now tho?YellowKing wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 3:07 pmI haven't played 2 yet, but I'm having fun with Starcraft 1.Pyperkub wrote:How's are the Starcraft remasters?

Bought. Thanks Blackhawk!
I've never played the first or second warcraft but always wanted to.

Yeah, I'm playing on a 3440x1440 monitor. It doesn't do full widescreen at that resolution (does the black bars on the side), but it looks crisp and clear. I haven't had any issues display-wise.Pyperkub wrote:Regular Starcraft remaster supports higher res monitors and widescreen now tho?

Boy, was it ever. I think group select in Warcraft 1 was a whole four units.Blackhawk wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 4:37 pm Starcraft came out midway through the RTS revolution of the late 90s, when many of the quality-of-life features we know and love had already been figured out. Re: Warcraft 1, 2, 3 remaster
I've never played the original Warcraft III, so the remaster interests me. I heard it was botched, but it sounds like they fixed it.
Gracias por estar aquí.

Re: Warcraft 1, 2, 3 remaster
Didn't it depend on the size of the units? Or was that a later game?Chraolic wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 10:46 amBoy, was it ever. No, I don't think different-sized unit portraits were added until Starcraft. This is how I remember playing:
Warcraft 2 raised the number of units you could group select to nine, which was a bit more useful.

Yeah, looking at the screenshot, I don't think I played the original warcraft, although I definitely remember seeing it on store shelves.
