Finished the DLC, kind of a disappointment. Too short and not worth the extra $$$. I don't have high hopes for the next DLC. Still overall my GOTY

I was a bit disappointed as well, although it did have its moments towards the end

The space cruise ship was a real disappointment. So many of the environments in the base game are wonderfully detailed and intriguing. The ship was very bland and unmemorable.

Also, the investigative missions early on in the ship weren't interesting either. And it seemed like they didn't want to trouble the players too much by actually having to follow a single path. There were at least two ways to get the passenger lists, maybe three. Perhaps they could have put in some more objectives or some sort of side mission.

There's a reason I'm finding Outlaws to be my GOTY. I had done a mission that, while getting me in better with the Hutts, put me out with the Pykes. So I accepted a contract mission on Akiva to go pick up a cargo for the Pykes. It was out in the boonies and I'd have had to drive on my speeder there but I noticed an abandoned landing spot I had missed before on the map. So I took the Trailblazer there, stepped off and found myself starting a multi-part mission that took me out into the jungle, then to a bad guy's hide-out, then actually up into orbit and eventually back to the landing pad. I won't spoil the mission by describing what happened at each place, but it's part of the coolness of this game that there are so unexpected adventures out there :dance:

I think I am at that same mish. I am trying to get Pykes up to good first so I can walk into their base.

Yes! I did it. Got my Pyke reputation to Good by winning a game of Sabbac.

I decided to give one this another go, and figured out a large part of my issue with this game today. I was super frustrated last time I played because I kept getting stuck and not knowing how to progress. I would finally find the climbable ledge or wall that allowed me to progress, typically stumbling across it by accidents.

It seems there is supposed to be a color highlight that shows items that are intractable, climbable, etc. You can even manually set what color you want that to be. There is also an “Explorer” mode, which removes those color highlights entirely (for a more “immersive experience).

My game seems to have some sort of bug where the “Explorer” mode is stuck on. I’ve flipped the toggle several times, restarted, and even reinstalled the game, but I can’t get any color highlights to show up on the interactable objects

EDIT: NVM, I figured it out. You have to flip a toggle in an entirely different menu to get those visual hints to show up. I’m seeming them now and, while they can be distracting, at least I’m not getting stuck.

Been play most of the day today, and I'm pretty hooked now. Just got off planet for the first time and infiltrated an Imperial cruiser, which was a fun, thrilling experience. I'm absolute garbage at stealth in this game so I don't know that I'll finish it, but I'm definitely enjoying it far more now than I did on my first attempt.

My two biggest gripes so far are:

1. Getting constantly shot at while I'm riding my speeder through through the open world is annoying as hell. Especially since there really hasn't been a whole lot I've been able to do to increase my faction standing so I, you know, don't get shot.

2. This game has the worst grappling hook in the history of video game grappling hooks. I've lost track of the number of times it has sent me flying off in a random direction to my death (or dropping me right now on enemy's heads) instead of jumping where I was trying to get to. Which is even more fun when it resets a checkpoint save that is quite a ways back. :evil:

This starter world has been fun, but I'm definitely looking forward to getting to explore more of the galaxy.

I refuse to lose any hard earned reputation, so I save outside every mission, and watch a video of how to get the goodies. One advantage of way late to the party. 8-)

Good timing for me. I am about to do a mission where I have to choose between two syndicates. So I watched a video which ranks the armor rewards and know which way I want to go.

I think I’m getting near the end of the story, as I just hit a “Are you sure you want to start this mission”/“No, I have things to finish” prompt. That’s probably good, as while I’m still enjoying it, it’s starting to feel a little repetitive.

I had a fun bug today where in the middle of one cutscene, it started playing the audio for another one at the same time. It was super confusing, and I only figured this out when the second cutscene triggered again once I landed my ship.

Also, that jungle planet can fark right off. Navigating that place ia a nightmare, especially before you get the water mod for the speeder.

I used to play games guideless, now I don't have time for trial and error. My game time is limited so I will often use guides to speed things along when I'm not 100% sure what to do. I don't feel like less of a gamer for it at all either. I think the Souls games led me down this dark path.

Finished the main story tonight, what a blast that was. Wasn't crazy about one of the endgame battles (where you have to hide from robots) but other than that it was great. The whole story was a fantastic romp, the game absolutely nails the Star Wars atmosphere, and it was just really fun all around. Very glad I gave it another look after they patched out the forced stealth. That was a non-starter for me (I was terrible at not being seen) but managed to blast my way out of most scrapes.

Not quite GOTY material for me due to the heaps of bugs, some really frustrating navigation on some worlds, and the gameplay getting a little repetitive towards the end. I also knock it down a peg for having maybe the worst

Seriously, that was just awful.

There's still a bazillion quests in my log, but I feel like I've spent enough time with it for now (just under 29 hours). A very solid B+/A- level game, may look at the DLC down the road.

The DLC was really short. I'd wait for a sale for a few bucks.

Making significant progress. Finally maxed out my reputation with Crimson Dawn and got their full stealth armor set - sweet! Now I will start looking at other syndicates and the main story.

I've finally gotten farther into this game and am really enjoying it. The gameplay is a repetitive (like pretty much any Ubisoft open world game), but the presentation and storytelling are so good that the flaws don't really matter. I'm finally visiting Tatooine for the first time, and all the details they've put into the setting are fantastic...the Jawa sandcrawler parked outside Mos Eisley, the busy streets and marketplace that do feel like a living city, the constant flow of speeder and ship traffic around the city. All the little details add up to a very cool experience.

Two more specific examples...

Found a group of storm troopers undergoing target practice/training on the outskirts of Mos Eisley. An instructor was giving them pointers, then turned them loose trying to shoot bottles. Of course they missed everything.

Visited the cantina and found a blaster mark on the wall that I'm pretty sure is supposed to be where Greedo missed his shot at Han Solo. Nice touch.

Title Update 1.5.0 Patch Notes
Our 5th and latest patch has just been deployed for Star Wars Outlaws across all platforms!

This Title Update brings a myriad of performance improvements and adjustments, such as smoothing transitions when NPCs move in and out of cover and improving AI reactions to grenades and Kay when concealed by smoke.

We've also updated Frame Generation and DLSS options in addition to a range of improvements to gameplay, UI, audio and more to ensure you have the best experience possible across the galaxy.

Also, we're aware of ongoing issues regarding foliage flickering on PS5 Pro and crashes occurring when entering Mirogana City for some Luna and GeForce Now players. We are currently investigating these issues and are working hard to fix them as soon as we possibly can. Thanks for your understanding.
