Even 8f they need protection they shpuld have to pay for it themselves. Private armed security is a thing but the logistics would be a nightmare due to the varying of carry laws.
Actually now that I think about it, the police might be the only option, which they should still have to pay for.
Or they'd have to have different armed security for each location.
Ex. If they have security from NJ, that carry permit isn't shared in NY. Heck, even if they have a carry permit for NY state, that's not valid for NYC. I don't remember if the reverse is true but I'm thinkning no.

I dunno, that sounds like it relies on things like rules and rule of law. The Magamerica Way would be more like granting federal marshal status to whatever Erik Prince's goons-for-hire enterprise is called these days, then issue him an exclusive license to contract security for the American oligarch class. For-profit from top to bottom, with a vig for TFG of course.

I think that anything with a security label would still have problems in some states like NJ or NY.
Both of those require separate carry permits as well as separate security permits.
They would have to officially make them federal police of some sort but who knows, that might be exactly what they do.

Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealth Group’s insurance unit, was fatally shot outside the Hilton hotel in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday morning in what appears to be “a brazen, targeted attack,” the New York Police Department said.

“I want to be clear at this time, every indication is that this was a premeditated, preplanned, targeted attack,” Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said during a news conference Wednesday following the shooting.

“This does not appear to be a random act of violence,” she said, adding that the department is carrying out a full investigation.

Thompson, 50, led UnitedHealthcare, the largest private health insurer in the U.S. He was on the way to UnitedHealth Group’s investor day set for Wednesday at 8 a.m. ET at the Hilton, the NYPD said. The company canceled that event after the shooting.

A few more CEOs get shot and we may have to start changing gun laws!

Or more likely, provide them with police security details.

I won't go anywhere close to saying that Thompson deserved to die, but I know there are literally millions of reasons for millions of people to be very upset with his decisions and the way his company treats a large number of its customers.

Just a rural school shooting. Only 2 people shot, so I guess it's ho hum... even if it is over 5% of the Students
Two students were shot and the suspected gunman is dead after a shooting at a school in the Northern California community of Palermo, according to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.

The agency said just before 2 p.m. that deputies were at an “active incident involving a shooting” at Feather River School of Seventh-Day Adventists.

The school is located 10 miles south of Oroville and almost 60 miles north of Sacramento. The school’s website says it has been at its current location since 1965, and an update from 2022 says it had just over 30 students.

Also ho hum, just your average weekday afternoon house party:
GAGE PARK — A basement brawl at a Gage Park house party quickly escalated into a shooting that killed three people and wounded five others, according to authorities.

At about 2:10 p.m. Monday, police responded to a call of a person shot in the 3500 block of West 59th Street and found eight people wounded by gunfire, said Chicago Police Chief of Patrol Jon Hein.

Interesting information on the weapon believed to have been used in the CEO shooting.
Investigators reportedly believe the firearm is a BT Station Six 9, a weapon which is marketed as tracing its roots back to pistols used by Second World War-era Allied special operations forces.
Assuming this is correct, it means that the shooter wasn't clearing a jam, they were simply operating the bolt.

The pistol is based on the WWII Welrod.

Some info on the pistol:

Words on ammo in CEO shooting echo common phrase on insurer tactics
A message left at the scene of a health insurance executive’s fatal shooting — “deny,” “defend” and “depose” — echoes a phrase commonly used to describe insurer tactics to avoid paying claims.

The three words were written on the ammunition a masked gunman used to kill UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, according to two law enforcement officials who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Thursday. They’re similar to the phrase “delay, deny, defend” — the way some attorneys describe how insurers deny services and payment, and the title of a 2010 book that was highly critical of the industry.

Oh the (scathing) jokes and callous commentary flying on my FB feed are in direct contrast to all of the sympathetic news reports on family and work. It doesn't help that the Health Care commentary was already happening regularly and before the shooting.

As someone who has professionally battled with UHC over their coverage determinations, and who has to deal with the negative fallout of their profit motive on a regular basis, I don't disagree with the criticisms of their policies.

But there is no way I can get on board with shooting a civilian in the back on a city street to resolve a financial matter or business grievance. Absolutely not the way to do things.

I'm just saying that if I spent a life time giving you money so that you are legally obligated to help me when a loved one gets sick, and decades later you say you're keeping it, pile so much paperwork and lawyers on me that I can't breath, when statistically most insurers would pay out, then the thought of getting shot in the face is something that should keep you up at night. More when than if.

Reuters fact checked at least one meme that's circulating and rated it as false.

Fact Check: Fake Elon Musk X post on CEOs shared after UnitedHealth executive shooting
A fabricated screenshot shared online purports to show Elon Musk saying in an X post, “the world would not be able to function” without CEOs, in response to the fatal shooting of a UnitedHealth executive on Wednesday.
VERDICT
False. A screenshot of a purported Elon Musk post on X about the importance of CEOs after the December shooting of a UnitedHealth executive is fabricated.
Which is too bad, because this was the funniest meme I saw today:

The jackass who shot the 5 and 6 year old kids at school in CA apparently was going to go on a spree:
Glenn Litton, 56, shot two boys who were outside for recess at Feather River Adventist School before fatally shooting himself, Butte County sheriff’s officials said, and had entered the campus after setting up a meeting with school administrators using a fake name and concocted reason. He had told the school that his daughter recently moved to nearby Gridley and that he was considering enrolling his grandson in the rural kindergarten through eighth grade school, located just off of Highway 70 in Butte County near Palermo and Oroville. However, investigators have deemed that meeting a “ruse,” Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea said at a news conference Thursday.

“We’ve also determined that there was an alternative target,” he said. It appears Litton, who authorities said does not have a grandson, set up a similar ploy at another small Seventh-day Adventist school, this one in Red Bluff. A city of about 15,000 people, Red Bluff is about 70 miles northwest of Oroville.
