You mean Lapu Lapu Day, when they celebrate the chief who killed Magellan?Isgrimnur wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 4:40 pm What, they don't have a holiday for when the Europeans arrived?
Did he not have Halloween lights?Smoove_B wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 5:02 pm Is this thread the forum equivalent of my neighbor that put up Xmas lights on 11/1?
... did you mean Thanksgiving?
I dont think they make Thanksgiving lights. I know they make Halloween light now...which I find stupid. You only need Christmas lights and for Christmas. Id say put up the Christmas light the week of thanksgiving.
Okay. Though my point was, why would the neighbor want to put up Halloween lights on 11/1?Daehawk wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 6:28 pmI dont think they make Thanksgiving lights. I put up Halloween lights and decorations every year starting Oct. 1.Daehawk wrote: I know they make Halloween light now...which I find stupid.
This. I used to be a curmudgeonly butt about xmas lights. Then my wife left the tree up all year, because she likes the low white lights on it for mood lighting.Blackhawk wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 8:36 pm Oh, geeze - just let people do what makes them happy. There's little enough of that going around these days for me to want to deny it to people just because of an arbitrary date.
It seems you don't understand the level of peer pressure imposed by early adopters in a neighborhood that is an annual destination in the area for those wishing to see excessive light displays.Blackhawk wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 8:36 pm Oh, geeze - just let people do what makes them happy. And I felt like a tool for doing so, but the wife will be pleased.
My son is in the Lego club at school. We can get him a $100 kit and he'll finish it off in a few hours, never to be used again.dbt1949 wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2024 10:28 pm Now for the real question.............which Lego set does everyone want?
