Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet (new Naughty Dog game)

Post by Kurth »

Given how much I love some of Naughty Dog’s previous games, I’m excited about this announcement this week: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

Thoughts?

At least I will have something to look forward to on the PS5. Too bad it isn't featuring Olivia Munn.

That didn’t look good at all to me. It looked very “generic”. Hot shot bald female pilot with a fancy ship and an attitude lands and fights robot with sword and lots of product placement. Trying too hard to be edgy, IMO.

Seemed vaguely interesting to me. I'll be interested in how it turns out.

I approve of this project purely on the basis that they've crafted a protagonist that could not be more certain to trigger the antiwoke chud brigade.

I don't even mind the product placement. A preference for retro culture gives Our Hero a bit of relatable personality.

Yeah, I’m honestly “meh” on the announcement trailer itself. I’m always down for a space, sci-fi theme and setting. But the trailer didn’t light the world on fire or anything for me.

I’m mostly excited about the prospect of a deep, complex narrative in space from the studio that knocked it out of the park with The Last of Us.

Also, this one is way, way out there on the horizon in terms of likely release. I’m sure it’s going to evolve in dozens of ways before it’s a finished product. Will be fun to see what it becomes!

Yeah, same. It certainly is way different than anything else Naughty Dog has put out, and perhaps that's why I feel so guarded. Hopefully the gameplay is good.

Yaaa one long day from almost never....Rockstar and Naughty Dog have a habit of delaying a PC release for a strangely long amount of time on these great games they make. So I got to where I dont bother hoping . One day Im sure...but will I remember it by then?

Those are apples and oranges. Rockstar does what Rockstar does, but Sony has an actual strategy for porting and releasing it's first-party games on PC. I'm confident that this one will be ported, it's just a matter of how long they decide to take to do it.

PC gets RDR 10 years later. That's quite the delay...

Ya no kidding! Its like the red headed step child of GTA. They put all their coal into GTA V and left RDR & RDO out in the cold

Well, I don't know if I'd say red-headed since the games have been really successful. I'm thinking they maybe intended earlier, perhaps in the lead up to RDR2, and it's likely a PC release kept getting delayed via different priorities until recently. I'm guessing the recent remaster work for the PS5 gave them less of a reason to hold out.
