I'm just grateful it got four seasons. I initially thought it was too weird/quirky to last more than one.

The series ender was pretty great. Way to leave on a high note!

It got six seasons.

Okay, this is fun. Apparently there are 3 different 3 minute scenes of the “hypnosis ending”. If you have Hulu as I do, you can watch all 3..

Those small snippets were as great as the entire episode!

I can't decide which ending I like more. The Newhart ending though feels oddly wrong due entirely to hearing the actor who plays Nandor speak in a perfect American accent.

I liked Newhart best. Watched the other two tonight and I recognized Rosemary's Baby, but what was the detective show or movie?

Nope, never have. Crime thrillers aren't my thing. The internet says I might like this one, though.

Agreed. It really was beautifully done. Though watch out for hep's recent posts. Pretty sure he had a spoiler in a recent comment in a different thread. :D

He's already seen the mock ending for What We Do in the Shadows that does exactly what I did.

Oh wow. Thanks for that!

I wonder how many viewers even recognized the scenario in the second one.

The Guide sticking her tongue out at Rosemary/Nadja made me laugh. That and her “insane rocking”.

Ensembles that good don’t come around that often. I’m happy they got a good 6 years.

This biggest issue is that they didn't say how long they went between documentary crews.
Anyone know when Jerry went into super slumber?

Didn't they give a date of him going to sleep some time in the 1970s? I feel like it was 50 years or so.

I think the lack of details was by design. Nadja noted in the scene where Jerry gets exasperated and says he’s going into super slumber that he constantly claims he’s going to do so. So I don’t think we’re supposed to put together a timeline based on that.

One more thing about the Rosemary’s Baby ending: I will laugh like a loon every time they put Colin’s adult head on a baby.

There were also so many other potential baby daddy's for a child from Nadja, and all of them much sexier than Colin.

That just makes it all the more a chef's kiss.

I was underwhelmed by the final season. It wasn't bad at all, but I thought the previous season was much better and funnier. The local news episode from last season made me weep with laughter even after multiple viewings. Nothing even came close to that this year.

I still enjoyed the season. I'm sad it's over. I will miss Matt Berry.... or I should say I hope he gets another gig accessible here so I won't miss Matt Berry.

I finished it and now I'm a little sad. This is the best comedy since The Office and it sorta outdid The Office by not ever having a major drop in quality.

The casting was fantastic and I need to look for more stuff from the three main vampires. I swear that Matt Berry is one of the few people that can effortlessly make me laugh. I loved his devotion to that witch's hat.

This is one of those series that, now that I've finished it, I will go back to Episode 1, hit play, and put the remote down.

It's even funnier when you remember that the actor's natural accent is British.

All the vamps besides Colin are British comedic actors. Also, time for a reminder that Natasia Demetriou holds her own in that cast. She's so damn funny.

The entirety of the immensely great Toast of London starring the immensely great Matt Berry is available to stream for free on the Roku channel.

If you say you don't like Toast of London, there are about a dozen of us here on OO who will drive to your home and fight you. :hand:

edit: nice, they also have the recent follow up, Toast of Tinseltown. He made that while filming here in the states as a side project. It features the scene with Natasia above as well as an appearance by Kayvan Novak (Nandor).

edit 2: here's a Matt Berry skit from his early days on Snuff Box that makes me laugh.

I LOVE Matt Berry. Toast of London is VERY hit or miss to put it mildly, but when it hits, it is hysterically funny. He is also great in the IT Crowd. And Darkplace while being beyond silly and stupid (intentionally) also has some great Matt Berry moments.

It's about as much hit or miss as Monty Python's Flying Circus, I would say. Some of it is quite absurd (just like Monty Python), and some people just don't like that kind of humor. Personally, I thought it hit FAR more than it missed.
