Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen
I could find no thread on this MMO in the works. Looks pretty sweet like Everquest with updated graphics.

Possibly because Brad McQuiad is once again at the helm of another MMO development company. This is a long ways out still.Looks pretty sweet like Everquest with updated graphics

I loved EQ and even EQ2 was ok but I dont trust Brad to make a decent game. Horizons were just a horrible clusterfuck. Shame too as this looks interesting. Not falling for him again.

With Brad gone to the great respawn in the sky, who is driving this bus?

Some guy named Chris "Joppa" Perkins, I guess (I Have no idea what the Joppa means).Jaymann wrote: Tue Jan 28, 2020 7:40 pm With Brad gone to the great respawn in the sky, who is driving this bus?
Full letter:The passing of Brad McQuaid in November was a tragic blow for us all. But, as Brad wanted, Pantheon’s team steadfastly marches on. Production hasn’t wavered one iota and the entire team is just as committed to bringing the game to life as it ever was. Perhaps even more so. Within the last month alone, and as of this writing, we've done 296 new game builds. We’re currently on build 0.5.499.12434 (12/19 at 12:18pm). We think Brad would be rather proud of this entire crew.

Wow, still in Pre Alpha. Whatever that is. Almost ready for Alpha proper, whatever that is. Sucks. Id love to play it. Seems like they are trying to do to much. Classic case of "it would be cool if you could...". Scope Creep the Game!

I took a look at their website, now in pre-alpha 5. They had some some gameplay video that looked pretty good.

This is still in development. From their website:
Dear Community Members,
Thanks to your support and our Seasons efforts, our Team and processes are streamlined, focused, polished and productive.
So much so, that we have built up the confidence to release into Early Access in December 2024.
With 6 full zones.
12 classes.
And 6 playable races.

It's not my cup of tea so I won't be trying it out myself, but if you're looking to see some gameplay the Twitch category is here: https://www.twitch.tv/directory/categor ... the-fallen

Re: Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen
I haven't tried it myself, but a buddy of mine has been playing for a bit and he said it's very niche due to the extreme difficulty. Like, don't even think about soloing it, you lose XP on death, corpse runs are a thing, etc. Sounds like it will really only appeal to hardcore players or those who remember fondly the brutal days of early EQ1.
He's been playing with a group of his old EQ1/EQ2 guild members who have been raiding together for years and know each other's playstyle by heart, and he said it's STILL insanely difficult.

Re: Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen
Yeah, the difficulty and forced grouping is why I'm not interested in playing it.

Re: Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen
I dont recall Brad Mcquaid dying. he was born the same year i was and died at 50.
I never understood why great game folk can make a great game like EQ or Garriott making the Ultimas then cant seem to make anything good after that. I think it seems like they are at an age where their ideas and skills are stuck in the past.
