O good lord. One hopes that demand will be too weak to justify producing the damned things. Yet one suspects that MAGAts will buy them just to stick it to the libruls. They aren't known for making good decisions.

Someone that enjoys seeing how the libs will react. There's no reason to do it other than to foment chaos. I'm half expecting them to start adding lead back to gasoline next month for on-road vehicles.
Maybe next year, maybe no go

I can totally imagine an official 2025 Presidential McDLT commercial in our current timeline.

I'm more excited for the leaded gas and mandatory school fireproofing with asbestos.

When are we serious, and when not? The GOP administration are strongly in favor of asbestos and spent political capital on bringing its use back to the US but leaded gas it an antiquity that would cost more to make for cars that can't use it at this point than "regular" (it's not technically unleaded when lead has to be added to make leaded)

Literally the first thing that pops up when you google this GOP administration and the EPA talks about asbestos deregulation from a couple of days ago

https://www.propublica.org/article/davi ... -pollution
Donald Trump’s No. 2 Pick for the EPA Represented Companies Accused of Pollution Harm

David Fotouhi, a lawyer who recently challenged a ban on asbestos, worked to roll back climate regulations and water protections while serving in the Environmental Protection Agency during Trump’s first administration.
Most recently, Fotouhi challenged the EPA’s recent ban of asbestos, which causes a deadly cancer called mesothelioma. In a brief filed in October on behalf of a group of car companies called the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, he argued that, for the specific uses that were banned, the “EPA failed to demonstrate that chrysotile asbestos presents an unreasonable risk of injury.”

The EPA banned the carcinogen in March, long after its dangers first became widely known. More than 50 other countries have outlawed use of the mineral. The agency had worked toward the ban for decades, and workers died while lobbyists pushed to delay action, as a 2022 ProPublica investigation showed.

Less than a day after Trump’s inauguration this week, the White House webpage that celebrated the historic ban was gone.

Well, if all the Republicans decide to go with that sweet asbestos then the problem should take care of itself..

Anyone else find it ironic that he created a Department of Government Efficiency, then removed the ban on the most inefficient lightbulbs made since Thomas Edison stole electricity from Nicolai Tesla?

(And don't even get me started on the obvious Tesla connection....)

And hear me out, but if our energy crisis is as bad as he's saying so that we now have to drop all protections to drill baby drill, would it not be counter productive to cease all off shore wind development at the same time? :grund:

Of course, but c'mon...there ain't no money in wind! I mean, there's a limitless supply, how are we supposed to apply the tenets of supply and demand to something that provides free, endless, clean energy???

I hear it makes great filters for breathing masks, too! Let them wear that, it works much better than a regular blue one...

Maybe asbestos air filters for their cars and trucks?

Some sort of device that shreds asbestos and disperses it into the air along with the smoke would be entirely on point for rolling coal devotees.
