Solasta 2
I think this is a big deal and deserves it's own thread. Here is a nice preview from Mort. Biggest change is to the Unreal engine, which is a plus for me as I thought the original character models were a bit underwhelming. Early access in 2025.

The jump in graphics quality jumped out at me. Wonder if this is what it will take for the game to move from relatively "niche" to more widespread visibility.

Was surprised to see the original wasn't in my Steam library, so I must have played it on GamePass. I'm going to pick it up on the Steam sale since it's under $10.

Demo coming February 24 - March 3. Multiclassing plus 2 subclasses for each class. I'm definitely in.

Re: Solasta 2
I'm just hoping they include even a semblance of a story this time. The complete lack of anything interesting with the world or characters in the first game really killed it for me.
Not expecting BG3 here, but at least a token effort would be nice.

Re: Solasta 2
SO glad multiclassing is in release. Modding it in was such a pain in the rear, as if I steppe away from the game for a bit, I would come back and find updates and DLC had borked all my saves. I created a party full of multiclass rogue/??? and absolutely mopped the floor with everything. Sneak attack from an entire party that can stay hidden cleared most encounters before they even knew where I was. Felt like a squad of assassins, taking everyone out in silence. Yeah, it was cheesing the game, but I'd already beaten it twice, soo...Jaymann wrote: Tue Feb 11, 2025 3:43 am Demo coming February 24 - March 3. Multiclassing plus 2 subclasses for each class. I never modded my party, but I wasn't above creating a room full of chests so I could get all the best equipment at level 1. Sure beats grubbing around to sell crappy loot.Hyena wrote: Tue Feb 11, 2025 3:44 pmSO glad multiclassing is in release. Just because I'd beaten it and all the DLC's so many times, When the Solasta 2 trailer came out I fired it back up and found a bunch of new mods, including one that ups your party limit to 6. There's a couple of graphics glitches during cut scenes where, because it's only designed for 4, some characters are literally inside the others. You can see them clipped through each other, which makes it really funny when the "inside" character is a dragonborn and his horns are sticking out of my elf's head. I also have the level limit removed, and I started the new campaign with level 5 veteran players.

Re: Solasta 2
I'm loving the demo so far. Graphics are sweet, pathfinding is excellent - just point to any spot and if it is possible to get there it happens. Loot is fairly rare and anything you can interact with glows. No irritating ! or ? above heads. I have won a small battle, stolen with stealth, and negotiated out of a fight.
One thing was comical when I was given a mission to rescue Jabori. I did so and he was tagging along with my party. We came to a ledge and someone said, hey we should look for Jabori over there. Dude, he is in our party.

Re: Solasta 2
Well I finished the demo, but I was a little disappointed I had to save scum for the final battle. When a 65% chance shot misses 10 times in a row something is bogus. Alright, how about if I save and load so that I hit every turn, and the enemy misses every turn.
I remember now from the first game that if your gear is shite you have little chance against wave after wave of enemies. If you're trying to encourage people to buy your game I think the demo should be a little more forgiving.

Re: Solasta 2
Update: A D&D aficionado did a three hour Let's Play on the demo and got Game Over twice on the final battle before calling it a night.
