If you have PS+, give Sayonara Wild Hearts a look. It's a very unique rail shooter/bullet hell/twin stick/driving/fighting/"games as art" game that can be finished in a single setting. Getting actually good at, however, would take lots of time. I was really surprised how much I enjoyed it's blending of genres and it definitely doesn't overstay its welcome. Cool game.

This is interesting. I'd heard of the earlier collaboration between Sony and Nintendo that almost became the Playstation, but I'd never heard of the Sony and Sega collaboration.

I think enough time has passed that we could have another Uncharted game. Loved that series.

Infamous Donkey Kong kill screen bypassed (only to get to the next one!)
If you watched the 2007 documentary King of Kong or followed the controversy surrounding score-chaser Billy Mitchell, you know all about Donkey Kong's famous kill screen. For over four decades, no one was able to pass the game's 117th screen (aka level 22-1) due to a glitch in the game's bonus timer that kills Mario well before he can reach the top of the stage's girders.

That was true until last weekend, when Mario speedrunner Kosmic shared the news that he had passed the kill screen using a combination of frame-perfect emulator inputs, a well-known ladder movement glitch, and a bit of luck.

I can’t out my finger on it, but there is something about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that just rubs me the wrong way. I liked Origns and Odyssey and I should like this one too (since it’s basically the same formula), but I’ve never been able to get more than 8 hours in before getting hopelessly annoyed.

The general movement feels so much clunkier, the combat feels much less fluid, the story and voice actors are incredibly bland, and the environment - while pretty - is a bit of a pain the ass to traverse.

I really want to like the game, but have tried it three times and never get far.

I've always thought that if they were to do a prequel focusing on Sully and his adventures up to the point of where he met Nathan, I think it'd be cool.

Loved Origins, but hated Odyssey. There was so much about that game that pissed me off. I loved the exploration and questing, but the wanted system being so aggressive at knowing where you were at all times, I really disliked, and especially the fact that enemies would always be near or at your level, which really made it insanely difficult for the Atlantis missions with the big bosses.

PlayStation Network is having a major outage tonight. Cant buy or download anything, no online games available, even though playing offline games won’t work (I downloaded the Persona 5 Tactics game earlier today and it won’t let me start). Apparently been going on for several hours now.

I’m mostly bummed because out of all the Assassins Creed settings (Egypt, Roman, pirates, America, etc), Vikings was the one that appeals to me the most. It’s just such a dull, soulless game.

I had the same exact experience. I might try it again, but I think I tried it twice and always just end up getting bored or frustrated and quitting. I kinda remember the gear (?) being dense or the upgrades to the gear was really weird and un-fun?

I loved Odyssey and Origins as well. Huge disappointment with Valhalla.

Yeah, although they are aware of the issue and are working on it. I think there was another smaller outage in June or July.

Mostly the same. I finished it, and I generally enjoyed it up until the end. But I agree, it was relatively soulless and disappointing, especially stacked up against Odyssey.

And the end was one of the worst endings to a game I ever experienced.

It’s been down now for over 18 hours. That’s bad. Really bad. The last major outage was in 2011, and that one was 24 days due to a security breach.

Back up now, apparently. I was out of town for the day, so missed most of the outage. And yeah, I remember the one back in 2011. Sony ended up having to give freebies. Doubt they'll do it now though.

Sony offers 5 free days of PlayStation Plus but no explanation for 24-hour 'operational issue,' Capcom to extend Monster Hunter Wilds beta to make up for downtime

Yesterday evening, the Ask PlayStation support account on Twitter declared an end to this weekend's strange PlayStation Network outage, almost 24 hours on the dot after the issues first began. Sony is offering five free days of PS Plus (the paid component of PlayStation Network) as recompense, while Capcom has said that it may offer an extension on the Monster Hunter Wilds beta to make up for the outage's impact.

At 6 PM CT on February 8, Ask PlayStation tweeted that PSN's services had been restored, and apologized for the inconvenience. Later that night, Ask PlayStation tweeted, "Network services have fully recovered from an operational issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank the community for their patience. All PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive an additional five days of service."

Mouthwashing is an interesting game that fans of surreal horror will like. I won't say much about it (going in knowing as little as possible is best), but the trailer gives you a good idea of the vibe. The PS1-era graphics work really well with the completely batshit but super interesting story. I did find some of the puzzles to be incredibly obtuse or overly difficult, but it was a fun experience outside of that. Short game, can be finished in one sitting. Definitely worse ways to spend $10 and a couple hours.

So I picked up "The Executive - Movie Industry Tycoon". It was just released and on-sale, plus I got a further discount as part of a bundle.

So far, it has mostly positive reviews, and it seems like the negative reviews were because the game was on a timed schedule. It's been less than a week since release and they've added an Endless Play mode to address that complaint.

So the game plays smoothly. I didn't really notice any problems with the UI or lack of information (tooltips & an in-game tutorial help). No crashes or freezes.

There are lots of options in terms of making your movies, but I can't tell how much they actually affect the finished products. I've made 6-8 movies, and while none lost money, the biggest profit I've made so far has been under $2 million. So growth has been slow.

Research points unlock additional options for almost everything - themes, filmmaking and post-production effects, business operations, etc. You can hire additional staff (in a number of different departments/roles) and move to larger offices. There's plenty more for me to do, if I can scrape up enough money to get ahead.

That said, it's been fun so far booting up the game and knocking out a couple movies to see how they do at the box office. I never played (or don't remember playing) The Movies like lots of you did, but I enjoyed a really old game called Hollywood Mogul that was similar to this. A nice time-killer / palate-cleanser to my other current games. At under $15, I'll certainly get my money's worth.

I've put in eight hours on Microtopia so far. It's a interesting take on the factory builder genre. Thing of something like Satisfactory, but instead of setting up conveyor belts, everything is moved by robotic ants:

You draw paths for the ants to follow to do things. They pick up items at dispensers and drop them at production buildings or storage. They forage and mine and do other things. But there's a lot more to them than those simple statements. For there are different types of ants and only certain ants do certain things.

And ants are hatched by the queen and eventually die, so you need to monitor and replace them, however as you unlock tech, you'll have ways to upgrade them that resets their life clock. And when you upgrade them they become a different type of ant which now does different things than it did before. And yes it is complex and even more so because you start at the very bottom of the tech tree with lots and lots of new buildings, ant types and other things to unlock.

After eight hours of playing that little area at the bottom is all of the tech tree I've unlocked.

And there's more! You start off on one island, but a lot of the resources you'll need later on are only on other islands. So you have to unlock the tech for flying drones and send them to the new island carrying the items you'll need to set up production on that island too. And it just gets more complex after that

So, it is a good game? The Steam Reviews think so, they are pretty positive. Me, I'm a bit overwhelmed with it all. It is not a causal game, but it is a very good challenge, a lot tougher than something like Satisfactory. If you just want to give the game a look, there is a Prologue version which I never actually played.

How long has it been since you last logged in? Apparently they phased out the old app about a year ago.

Im logged in on my desktop app. Well I mean it auto logs me in. WHats happening is I want to see my WOW account on the web. I go to WOW homepage and click account then it wants me to log into the BN account there...I have my name pass correct but it then wants me to click APPROVE on the digital app.Which you say is gone now. It says I can imput a code from the physical fob. I try that and it says incorrect or something i dotn recall. But I imput that code right two or three tries.

I just want to log into my WOW account and see my info there and see if I can view my old characters. Thought about going back but i want to see my old character both out of curiosity and to make sure they are there.

I guess my real question is how can I view my old WOW account without subscribing again.

A couple of reviews for Two Point Museum, due out in a week, which I assume will not be an Early Access but Full Release.

Two Point Museum review - a mighty, moreish museum management game
Our Verdict 8/10

Two Point Museum is more of the same we’ve come to expect from Two Point Studios, but its imaginative approach to heritage ensures plenty of museum magic. Boasting a broad thematic range, endless exploration, and more decorative options than you can shake a dinosaur’s femur at, you’ll end up being the one getting excavated after sinking countless hours of your life into this addictive management sim.
Two Point Museum review - Two Point Studios' latest endeavour may be its best.

Two Point Museum is the coolest, cosiest, and most evolved iteration of the formula to date, even if its more obtuse aspects prevented me from becoming a pro curator.

I liked Hospital but skipped Campus as it just didn't seem to fit what I was looking for. Museum looks pretty good but release day is the day I start a one week trip so someone else will have to take the bullet! :D

Update to the above post, there is an Explorer Edition of Two Point Museum available for extra bucks. And it arrives five days early, so maybe I'll be dipping my toes in after all :ninja:

Word is that WB shut down Monolith Productions and cancelled their Wonder Woman game they were working on. They've also closed two other studios, but Monolith had the longest history. This sucks, as I have very fond memories of playing Blood, their very first game, and interestingly enough I'm currently playing through Mordor: Shadow of War.

I gave this a try and it's a lot of fun. If you liked Snowrunner you'll find a lot of that in here, but it's not just delivering cargos, it's also cutting down trees and delivering the logs, like Farm Simulator, plus a lot more.

I put a lot of hours into Snowrunner, but found Expeditions lost a lot of its appeal after many, many hours of just driving from A to B. Being able to do other tasks looks to be pretty appealing. The game releases May 20th.

I've started a new thread on Two Point Museum since I've pre-ordered the Explorer's Edition which unlocks in a couple of days.

This looks like a fun new take on a tower defense game.

I didn't watch the video but was just wondering. Is it a game about government employees?
