Is the guardian not a trusted source? When I googled there were multiple hits and I thought the guardian would be safe.
This is more about Donald Trump saying things that are untrue than the fact that it's a Guardian article.
The Guardian didn't just report Trump's nonsense, they also called it out as false and provided context:
Trump’s claim the boycott is “illegal” is false. The supreme court ruled in 1972 that the first amendment of the US constitution protects Americans’ right to protest against private businesses.
The group TeslaTakedown, which has been organizing the anti-Tesla protests nationwide, says people also have the right to protest peacefully on the sidewalks and streets in front of the company’s showrooms.
“Peaceful protest on public property is not domestic terrorism,” the group said in a statement. “We will not be bullied or allow our rights to be trampled on or stolen.”

It's not enough to be a good player... you also have to play well. -- Siegbert Tarrasch
Ok.
Thanks guys. I guess i misunderstood what was going on.
And yes, I'm not believing it's actually illegal (yet?) I just thought it was funny in a dark way.
FWIW, I read the "apparently" at the start of Punisher's post as indicating sarcasm and/or doubt about the claim. I didn't read the article itself, but seeing it was from The Guardian made me believe that the claim would be called out for the bullshit it is.

I assumed the article was accurate and that he really said that but attributed him saying it to brain damage as I'm somewhat of an expert now.

Then why did you suddenly change your profile signature to "I really hate Punisher!" and then change it back suddenly when I called you out just now?
Tesla has issued another recall for more than 46,000 of its Cybertrucks that may undergo a rapid unplanned disassembly of their roof trim while underway, the company said in a campaign it launched Tuesday. Per the recall notice, the Cybertruck’s stainless steel cant rail trim (Easy to remember; it’s the part that can’t stay attached) may separate from the truck at speed, posing a hazard to other motorists.
My father said that anything is interesting if you bother to read about it - Michael C. Harrold
This is what Musk's cost cutting looks like. These rails were merely glued on with an unproven, non-automotive adhesive.
The fix, on the recalls and on newer editions, is appropriate adhesive and a bolt. The safety of other drivers was not worth the cost of a bolt and some proper glue.
Can't wait until the newly reorganized agencies approve FSD.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is urging people to buy Tesla stock, a highly unusual promotion of a private business by a presidential Cabinet member.
So the DOJ says it is domestic terrorism.to vandalize a Tesla and the US Commerce Secretary is urging citizens to buy TSLA shares.

After an announced recall? Where their P/E is at 110 and automotive is usually 7-9. Must be their room to grow or their resilience against economic downturn.
