A free game in every box

Post by Daehawk »

I may have posted something like this before...not sure now. My brain does'nt work well at imprinting stuff.

Anyways Space Ranger 2 got me thinking. It includes the first game for free in the box. Other games/companies should take this approach. Buy so and so 2 or so and so 3 and get the previous one/s in the box for free.

Now I know it would'nt work in all cases. Some games may still be making a good amount of money on their own. If say part 2 comes out within a year or so of the original game's release or if the original game was very popular then no it would'nt be a good idea to include it free.

But if your original has been out a couple years, is not selling well, or in the case of small or foriegn developers your game was not well known....then by all means how about including it free with part 2 or 3 or 4 or whatever? It would go a long way in giving you good credit with the gamers and also would get your game more easily reconized.

I dont own SR2 YET but I do plan to buy it and having SR1 for free is a great bonus for a Russian developer Id never heard of before. So thank you guys for your generocity and forward thinking. We gamers appreciate it.

The CE of Might and Magic VI had Might and Magic 1, 2, 3, 4 AND 5 with it, along with the printed maps for each - that was a fantastic deal.

Starforce has been a non-issue for me, and has ZERO influence on what I do and don't buy. With the amount of superb titles that have it now, I might as well shoot my foot off if it was.

I'll definately order it now that I know it has both, and it is in the bargin bin now.

Is this in all copies? I saw a box in store and there was no mention of Divine Divinity being included. Should I be looking for specially marked boxes?

Not all versions of Beyond Divinity ship with Divine Divinity. For example, mine did not. Only "specially marked boxes" contain them. Luckily for me, I had Divine Divinity already. Sadly for me, I purchased Beyond Divinity, hoping to receive a 2nd copy so that I could give one to my brother. Luckily for me, while I didn't *love* Beyond Divinity, I was able to enjoy it enough to finish it.
