Need help getting game to run.

Post by Kobra »

My youngest son loves Monster Jam Maximum Destruction from UBI. However once I upgraded all of the machines here to 6600/6800 series graphic cards, the game refuses to run on any of the PC's. It ran fine on FX series cards.

I can't pin down whats causing the crash. UBI is of no help, and the developers of the product don't reply to emails. The error occurs immediately after I try to launch the game. The error code is:

Anyone got any suggestions? My son is pretty annoyed, and I feel bad for him. I upgrade his PC to make it better, and his favorite game breaks.

I had a similar problem with one of the older deer hunting games when I switched over from a Voodoo4 to an ATI 9500. I hate to tell you this, but I was unable to get it working afterwards.
Sounds like you may have to either put an FX back in one of the machines, or downgrade the drivers (to a previous version) in one of them.
I wish you luck!

Id suggest going back to old drivers. Like 2 or 3 eyars old. The 52.** ones were good I think. Also the 46.** series.

I'm going to try driver rollback, but I suspect it is the chipset that is incompatible, and the only way to fix that would be to switch back to a crappy FX series card.

I'm not going to do that unfortunately. :?

If it's his favorite game, why not go back to the old card until he doesn't want to play it anymore?
