Retro Gaming Help! - Name of this game?

Post by pengo »

G'day

I have this weird desire to want to play this old Apple ][e game, problem is I can't remember the name of it.

Basically its a game where you play a person who travels to california during the california gold rush.

Does this ring any bells for anyone? I can remember playing it in 91 or 92 and that you have to by a mining lisence and other stuff.

It was not oregon trail :)

Thanks

Are you sure it wasn't called...Gold Rush! ?

See http://www.if-legends.org/~adventure/Si ... ,_Inc.html

Page down and you'll find Gold Rush!:

Comments: You play a man from New York who decides to go to California during the height of the gold rush. Middle portion of the game revolves around your transport to California via three methods (two by sea and one by land).

actually i don't think its gold rush based on screenshots..

It sounds more like this game: The Lost Dutchman Mine

I remember that u tried to raise money to get a map, so thats why it could be the above game. Tho I don't remember it having VGA gfx since it was played on an Apple.

Yes, "Miner 2049er", but that was a platform game, not an "exploring the old west pioneer game". Screen shot

Virtual Apple lets you play tons of Apple 2 games in a browser. It doesnt seem to like my Firefox (though it once did) but it works for me in IE.

"Do you have any Pirate Puzzle Games?"

He said this, then waited to see if anyone got the very recent but oh so obscure reference...
