HL2 basic $40 at Best Buy this week starting 12/5/04

I'm tempted to get this deal instead of the Steam Silver I planned to purchase (especially since I'm not that interested in multiplayer except for the vaporware TF2), but I keep thinking that Valve might release additional content later to reward Steam buyers.

I thought basic is like bronze. You get counter strike and HL2 multi. No Day of defeat source or Half Life source.

Yeah, it is. (Just edited my post to clarify that I am tempted by the retail deal since I'm not interested in the current multiplayer anyway.)
