Totally agreed...
Spoiler:
...except reading back over the 12+ pages, one wolf may have accidentally given him/herself away; we'll see one way or the other when the game ends. EDIT: Nope, I was wrong....:D

Things could have gone many different ways that night. Briefly Jiffy was taken to the gallows, but he was reprieved at the last minute.

Arguument was fierce, but in the end a protesting J.D. had the noose strung about his neck.

He dropped, danced, died - as so many innocents had before him.

And he would only add to their number.

No wolf. Just another man. Another innocent death

Night was falling on the village. It could be the last time.

IT IS NIGHT

PMs going out

At one point during the time I was away Jiffy had five votes, but since I missed it, I'm going with the votes as they now are. This is an annoying but unavoidable artefact of the way the game is played online, so there it is.

FINAL VOTE TALLY

Chaosraven ---> J.D
J.D. ---> Asharak
Gryndyl ---> Jiffy
Ænima---> Asharak
Remus West --->J.D
Jiffy ---> J.D
Asharak ---> J.D
Orinoco ---> Jiffy
Crux ---> J.D

This is the kind of thing that has gotten us in such ridiculous trouble. You're practically handing the wolves a viable strategy to cause problems. They don't kill me tonight, and together with your vote they have enough to lynch me in the morning. So why bother killing me?

Of course, if they didn't realize this already, I just spelled it out for them even more :P What a nightmare game.

Well now, if they don't kill you tonight, it could be because they know that we know that they know that... bah, my head hurts! I agree that if they don't kill you tonight it does not prove your guilt (or innocence) in any way. But that just makes everything harder - our main problem has been that we have not had any hard evidence to work with.

If the seer is alive (i.e. was not Cesare) then now would be a good time for them to communicate!

IT IS DAY

Crux was dead.

Few were left to care, or to feel anything at all other than the coldest, most bitter hatred ever imagined. Somewhere in the small group that remained three monsters still lurked, but who now could tell monster from man?

The village would go to bed tonioght in certain knowldge that none of them should see the dawn, unless they could summon up the will to find and kill a wolf this day.

Who among them could be trusted? Could any normal man trust such people, who had seen and comitted such horrors?

REMAINING PLAYERS

Chaosraven
Gryndyl
Ænima
Remus West
Jiffy
Asharak
Orinoco

That's seven of you still clinging to a shallow mockery of your own once joyful existence. Four is the number required.

Oh, and if you don't get a wolf today everyone dies. Except the wolves.

And I still say you are wrong.

Have I voted for every innocent slaying? Yup, but I'm just not too bright it seems. Doesn't make me a wolf. Crux had a similar voting record, he was not a wolf either.

Right now I'm thinking Chaosraven, Gryndyl, and possibly Asharak are the wolves. Of course, this is mostly gut feeling. And I've been wrong every time. So who knows.

Evidence:

Chaos: Claims to have not been around for the first few days. I don't see why this matters. 2 wolves make a majority, no need for the 3rd vote to get the killing done. Also, recent comments:
"JD Jiffy Remus and Crux maintain position at the top of my list of suspects"
3 of the 4 are innocent (Unsure of Remus). Though, voting records mean almost nothing, since I have the worse. Chaos did change quickly to get whoever had the most votes onto the gallows though. Voting quickly for me once I was one away from being killed, then switching to JD simply to string him up. Not what I call innocent.

Gryndyl: In his vote counting post, Gryndyl offers explanation that Chaosraven can't be the wolf due to being absent. I think he was slyly covering, incase he or the 3rd wolf get taken out, to ensure Chaosraven can continue killing.

Asharak: This is more of a gut call more than anything, but this statement by Asharak:
"Information has been presented to me that suggests Jiffy's innocence, and makes a more likely wolf out of J.D., so I'm switching my vote to him."
Seems really funny. I never contacted Asharak. Who is suggesting my innocence? He makes it very easy to switch to JD, removing suspicion from himself in the process.

I'm not convinced with any of them being guilty as of yet, so I won't be voting early this time. But, I have my suspicions.

I could very well be wrong. All I have to go on is what everybody else does.

I still feel Chaosraven is innocent-he claimed to have been away during the first kill. Chaosraven is a fairly prolific poster and he has 0 posts on the 16th or 17. Yep, I actually looked into that. If he refrained from posting for two days or deleted them all just to give himself a cover story then he deserves to win for going the extra mile :P Yes, he may have been a wolf in absentia. I hadn't thought of the 'wolf majority' angle.

My suspect list is currently
Ænima
Remus West
Asharak

And yes, Jiffy, my vote for you has been based on your atrocious voting record :D However, you have an authentic seeming tone of indignation and, frankly, your voting record is almost too bad to be one of the wolves. So I took you off of my list.

My vote is now for Asharak

I'm being careful about what Jiffy says - he would have been hung if Padre had not been sleeping on the job :P - if he's a wolf he's breathing a sigh of relief and will say anything to avoid that fate again.

I'm not saying he's guilty, but he's not off my list yet. In fact, I'm going to vote Jiffy for the moment, until I have some spare time to analysis things further.

The problem now is that three of you who offer advice today are wolves and three are villagers and if we split between anyone with a wrong vote the three wolves jump on board hang him and are done. Crap. On the otherhand, I have a 50/50 chance with my next friggin guess. The problem with voting for Ash or Jiffy right now is that both Orinoco and Gryndyl could be wolves throwing a name out and waiting for the first person to join them then have the other wolves jump on as well and I have no way to be sure. If I throw another name out there though, the chances of all three of us being right are pretty low which will insure the wolves an innocent to lynch.

The coin says Ash.

And with that I hope we are correct so that we can go through this exact debate the next day. Uhg.

OK. Let me guess - Jiffy will vote for Asharak, and Asharak will vote for Jiffy. Chaos and Aenima will decide who to lynch. If they're both wolves (or one is a wolf and Ash is innocent) then we're in trouble.

Problem for me is that I can't decide who is guilty. We cannot afford to get this wrong, and we only have a 50/50 chance here. Gryndyl and Remus are quick to accuse Asharak - is that because they're wolves trying to railroad people? Or are they innocent and I should vote with them?

Let's analyse this:

1. If they're wolves and I vote with them - we lose
2. If they're innocent, Ash is innocent, and I vote with them - we lose.
3. If they're innocent, Ash is a wolf and I vote with them - we win (or continue anyway).

1 in 3 chance to choose correctly here - I don't like those odds...

Let's see...

Chaosraven and Aenima are suspect because they haven't said much.

Jiffy's a suspect for continuous voting against innocents

Asharak is a suspect for constantly changing his mind (maybe it's her mind :twisted: - I know, sexist pig etc etc)

Remus and Gryndyl are suspects for not leading the "wolf-hunt" until this critical point, and for some potential important vote changes in the past.

I'm withdrawing my vote for Jiffy - as Remus said, if he's innocent then I've assured the wolves a win. Or did Remus say that to protect Jiffy... Things to make you go hmmmm...

Anyone like to add to what I've said?

My top four list is based on the deduction (which seems to be the topic of conversation among themselves as well as onlookers) that at least one if not two of the wolves are among the original lynch mob.

With the fingerpointing going between them, so far every lynching has been a villager.

Yes, my votes have been for those who fit that profile in the hopes that at least one wolf may get caught. And yes, I "jumped on the bandwagon" to get the final (or almost final vote) when the opportunity presented itself.

I was kidding about doing it for snakes on a plane, remus, but I may have to consider you carefully for what may be my deathknell.

No, that's not in bold. I need to think this out rather than watch us flush our last chance.

I'm concerned about Jiffy's statement that the wolves have been leading this farce of justice as that would be based on my own theory of the original nine.

But there are only two remaining... Remus and Jiffy.

If Jiffy was a wolf, would he say that the rest of us were being led by the nose to the gallows?

If Jiffy was a villager, and everyone else killed has been innocent, what is the deciding factor?

I admit to being as guilty of vote changing as at least Remus.

I think I'm deliberately overlooking Gryndyl and AEnima to keep my choices low (flipping a coin like Remus... kind of arbitrary for a decision of this magnitude, don't you think, Remus?) so that I don't strech out any possible logic I can apply beyond any chance of making a decision.

Maybe that will be a mistake.

Who suggested your innocence to me? Crux. Although to be fair, it was more than he suggested a greater likelihood of JD being guilty than you (but it amounts to the same thing). Now that he's dead he can't corroborate that, of course, but I would think the fact that I switched my vote away from you and towards the player Crux was targetting (and I must point out, since I seem to be defending myself these days, that I was the first person other than Crux to vote for JD, so I wasn't exactly "piling on" to a likely lynching candidate - my vote was only #2 of 5 needed) establishes the veracity of that.

Remus kind of shot down my attempt to hide Crux's growing "ringleader of the innocent" status, though, by posting that he was switching his vote based on trusting Crux, but as long as Crux was alive I didn't want to give the wolves any more reason than they already had to eat him, so hence my obfuscation. I'm sorry if it sounded "funny".

Gryndyl: I don't get where your vote against me is coming from. Why am I getting your vote instead of, say, Aenima (to pick randomly off your new list)? If I have to be strung up, even though it will cost us the game, I'd at least like to know I'm dying for something of a defensible reason, and so far you haven't provided one.

I can only reiterate that I am not a werewolf. I don't know who is - every guess everyone's made in this game has been wrong, which makes it harder every round to decide on another vote. Those who are voting against me instantly earn my suspicion, obviously, but we've all voted against innocent people for good reasons in this game, so that doesn't prove anything.

I come back to my theory of a couple pages ago: that we have been dangerously, resoundingly wrong in accusing those who have made the most obvious targets of themselves. Crux was wrong about Kelric, I was wrong about Crux (way back when I suspected him, at any rate), and so on. Those who followed the first of Padre's games remember the lesson of setaside: the guy who made himself the most obvious target was completely innocent. I have been vocal these last few days, and now everyone is about to repeat this same mistake for the fourth time now.

The wolves pattern of behaviour in this game has been "quiet". Take their free night kills, and then stay back and let the mob work itself up into a tizzy each day and lynch an innocent. I implore everyone to figure out who here is doing there damnedest not to draw attention right now. Those are the wolves.

EDIT> Crap, I just noticed that I wasn't the first person after Crux to vote for JD. Remus actually got his post in there first. The rest of my point still stands.

Just wanted to note that we have hung all of our "wolf-hunt" leaders to this point so no one who is left can make a claim to have done that until now.
