I have just finished reviewing Grundbegriff's totals and they're accurate to what I can see.
I will now remind all players that we are well WELL within the "plurality window". Should J.D. and Varity cast votes, I will invoke this rule and the villager receiving the plurality of votes will be lynched. Until then lynching still requires a clear majority, or 8 votes.

I posted the "plurality rule" nearly 3 days ago. If people left a vote up, I must assume they wish it to be counted.Varity wrote:Triggercut, a number of people haven't posted for quite some time.
Please give them some more time to update/confirm their votes.
It's of no matter anyway--if you don't want it invoked it can't be without you casting a vote.

I have to agree that lynching Mark at this point would be a mistake.
I am fairly sure that Grundbegriff is the alpha vampire.
The fact that he tried to manipulate people to not tell the truth to someone, who is, undisputedly, extremly likely to serve the good side (noxiousdog) is something only the alpha vampire would be interested in doing.
That is the strongest claim I have yet heard against anyone, and certainly beats choosing at random.
I would like to see noxiousdog make a comment on this.

According to my informations Mark has claimed to be the vampire hunter and noone has contradicted that publicly or privately so far, according to noxiousdog. (I call upon him to back me up here)Mark wrote:Please! I beg of you - rescind your votes!
You are sending an innocent man to his death!
If that is true, we would lose a invaluable asset to the defense of the masons and their web of trust.
If you feel impatient and need to lynch someone, I would ask you to lynch ME rather than him.

I dunno.. just suspicious that I've gotten one message total this whole game and then votes are switching.. sounds like someone is playing someone... Just wish I could figure it out.. Hard to when Im in the dark..Mark wrote:Grund is the Alpha. He just pm'd me, demanding that I answer a question about the identity of another player in return for rescinding his vote. He knows that he can come for me in the night if I don't get lynched - which looks imminent.

As a show of good faith (and in order to try out Leigh's theory) I rescinded my vote. I then asked Mark for information about the person he says he most strongly suspects, so I can figure out who else might be a fitting recipient of my vote.
That makes me the Alpha?
You're giving me second thoughts about my second thoughts, Mark....

You're just ego-bruised because I didn't stand up for your bombastic "I call upon everyone to share everything with the Masons regardless of anything" plan before we've even had a single sundown.Varity wrote:The fact that he tried to manipulate people to not tell the truth to someone, who is, undisputedly, extremly likely to serve the good side (noxiousdog) is something only the alpha vampire would be interested in doing.

I made the last post before you sent me a subsequent PM offering to rescind your vote. Regardless, it is still a threat. Look how patient you've been, articulating your strategy to have me lynched. We all know you're a smart man, Grund - perhaps a little too smart for your own good sometimes.Grundbegriff wrote:As a show of good faith (and in order to try out Leigh's theory) I rescinded my vote. Oh, and another thing - you have more than enough information before you right now, both on the forum and PM, that should give you a pretty firm idea one way or the other on Leigh's theory.
The only reason to rescind your vote is if you think I'm innocent. Again, you have that level of information before you now. I'm gladdened by the fact that you think I don't deserve to hang yet, but I'm also uncomfortable with your insistence that I reveal the identity of another player (let's call her Bubba Sue).

She must be one of your Chosen Ones, then. Nothing else explains why even withdrawing my vote against you doesn't move you to cooperate in figuring out who else might be jerking us around.Mark wrote:I'm also uncomfortable with your insistence that I reveal the identity of another player (let's call her Bubba Sue).

There is a difference between not standing up for (=putting your interests first) and sabotaging something (=increasing the chances of evil) .Grundbegriff wrote:You're just ego-bruised because I didn't stand up for your bombastic "I call upon everyone to share everything with the Masons regardless of anything" plan before we've even had a single sundown.Varity wrote:The fact that he tried to manipulate people to not tell the truth to someone, who is, undisputedly, extremly likely to serve the good side (noxiousdog) is something only the alpha vampire would be interested in doing.Yup.I would like to see noxiousdog make a comment on this.
I have to question your motives for doing so and you still haven't explained why you asked other people to not support the masons. Did you just have everybodys best interest in mind, at your own disadvantage, if you are good sided?

You want an explanation? How about I don't feel o-fey about revealing the identity of someone who may be trustworthy? Bubba Sue has appeared to be fairly on the level so far (or, to put another way, I suspect Bubba Sue much less than I suspect you).
It's a bit rich to claim that the 'only' reason I wouldn't reveal the information is because they're a Beta.

Because it was unfair to the 9 players who didn't yet know which team they were on.I have to question your motives for doing so and you still haven't explained why you asked other people to not support the masons.
Here's the thing about me-- not only in this game, but in general: I play the game before me as a team player, but I also tend to assess it from a quasi-neutral standpoint and try to explain what I've observed in a detached way that might be useful to others. I'm made this way.Did you just have everybodys best interest in mind, at your own disadvantage, if you are good sided?
If I see a plan that doesn't make sense, I point out where I think it's flawed. If someone broaches a tactical concept that seems sound to me, I agree with them that it's good. noxiousdog seems to be woven from similar cloth, as are a few others.
It's a dispositional thing; don't read too much into it.

I plan on trying to lynch Grund in a couple of days if Mark isn't a vampire anyways. By no means does he have <South African accent from Lethal Weapon>diplo-ma-tic i-mmun-ity.</South African accent from Lethal Weapon>Varity wrote:I have to agree that lynching Mark at this point would be a mistake.

Let's just lynch someone besides me already, god damn. It's interesting to read, but ultimately it's just sitting here twiddling our damn thumbs waiting for someone to break.

When this has the result of getting 2 important people from the web of trust killed in the meantime, yes.Grundbegriff wrote:Suggesting that the implementation be bumped back one round so everyone knows his role is sabotage?Varity wrote:sabotaging something (=increasing the chances of evil) .

7 out of 9 people will disagree with you, I think.
Maybe you want to ask them all to vote for a known innocent next, to even the vampires odds some more, in case they have to switch teams?
I think it is much more likely that you had an ulterior motive. It would also fit much better with the rest of your moves.Grundbegriff wrote:Here's the thing about me-- not only in this game, but in general: I play the game before me as a team player, but I also tend to assess it from a quasi-neutral standpoint and try to explain what I've observed in a detached way that might be useful to others. But which 7?7 out of 9 people will disagree with you, I think.
That's the whole problem. You could wake up in the morning as a vamp and BAM! all of a sudden, the entire game has changed for you. The information you've been feeding the Mason will now be used against you, handing the other team the likely victory.
From a realism standpoint, it makes sense but from a victory standpoint, it's potential suicide.
As much as I hate to see it that way since likely I will wake up in the morning and STILL be a villager, thus kicking myself for not going forward with it. If I did wake up in the morning as a vamp, I'd be kicking myself if I DID go along with it.
If you're not a plain villager, it's an easy choice. Otherwise ... serious potential for a conflict of interests.
