do The Screen Savors people read our forums?>??

Post by Daehawk »

Im beginning to wonder about this after seeing last nights show. Maybe they are grabbing stuff off of /. or something but 4 or 5 times now Ive seen little stupid net movies that have been posted by people in our forums show up on TSS.

TSS has this little piece where when they go to commercial they show a dumb/funny little movie found off the net. But There are usually posted on our boards a week or so before I see them on thier show. I cant believe they find some of these obscure ones just looking around.

Someone is making easy money by reading our forums :)

Why not? Isn't that how the original posters found them? Just by looking around?

It has been my experience that those movies tend to hit all the major boards at once within a few days of each other. Someone will see it posted on Qt3 or Blue's and link to it here. Someone here will see it and link to it on another board, and so on.

They may read OO; we are the legacy of one of the Big Boys of gaming forums. They could just as easily have seen it elsewhere, though.

And this is why such movies are referred to as "viral videos." 8)

Sort of like how the local news will show some hot news story and its been on the net for a week or more. This is especially annoying when they use it as a promo to get you to watch - "What is in you soda that could kill you?! Find out at 5!" Maybe it works for those who don't get their news from others sources like the net or papers.

It's hard to see GG as having been one of the big boys of computer gaming forums. Part of the original attraction was that it was quaint and small, but comfortable, though is did have an on the skirts of the inside feel to it. And I believe I came into them relatively late in the game.

QUICK! We need to test this! Someone make up a video of someone playing an ass banjo with Kevin Spacey crooning 'Tiny Bubbles' in the background while Kelric and Grenard get homoerotic in a bed!
CeeKay has left the building. See him exclusively at Gaming Trend!
