MX1000 mouse

In my other thread I mentioned how Logitech is replacing my MX700 with a MX1000 laser mouse. So Id like to know if anyone has any experience with this mouse?..How is it?..Is it better or the same as my old MX700? The guy said that it was shaped a little different and stuff. Just curious since Ill be switching to it.

It is fan-damn-tastic!

I got one for Christmas and I love it so far. It's quite a bit more accurate then other optical mice thanks to the laser technology it uses to read the surface. In addition, it has more buttons (a 4-way scroll wheel, cruise buttons, back, forward, middle click, application switcher, left, and right) then pretty much any other mouse. Also, it's receiver doubles as a recharger. Just put the mouse in there when you're done and it will recharge the battery. A full charge will last you about 2-3 weeks depending on how much you use it.

Seriously, it's the best mouse I've ever had.

Cool thnx for the opnion. I looked it up in some reviews since I posted and it does seem like a nice mouse. I noticed it has some led light meter to show battery power. that is cool. I was worried about the batteries being non replacable until I saw its a lith-ion batt so thats ok i guess. Long lasting charge. I thought my MX700 lasted a long time on a charge(16 hours) wow!

If I have a MX700 Duo combo (keyboard and mosue), can I keep the keyboard and use the new mouse? I ask this because the keyboard transmitter is the mouse charging base.

No, it's not replaceable as far as I can tell (don't have it in front of me right now). I know Li-Ion batteries have some memory issues but I haven't seen anything of the sort so far.

One reason the charge lasts so long is that when you're not using the mouse it powers itself down to conserve energy. When you move it, it turns back on. I don't know if that's standard for all wireless mice but it's a nifty feature.

I got one a couple of weeks ago and I agree, it's the best mouse I've ever owned. I did have one problem with the battery at first - I could charge it all the way and it would still only show 2 LEDs full. However I fixed it by letting the mouse drain all the way down and letting it recharge fully overnight. I think the problem was caused from putting it back in the cradle after each use; now I just leave it out until it gets low.

A friend of mine ridiculed me endlessly for buying a $70 mouse. Obviously he's never used one. Worth every penny.

I have 3 of them I like them so much

2 for the PC
s at home and one for at work.. The battery life is great and the accuracy is better than any of my other mice were and it atually does work on anything(unlike the other optical's i've owned) I did get mine for $69 canadian from costco though so that's why I got 3. In the other store I saw them they were 129-149 CAD

THere are some long discussions about several supposedly recognized problems with this mouse. One is the "pick up" delay, another is the wobble problem and a third is the jumping mouse pointer issue. Personally, I had a jitter problem with the cursor, but was able to correct that by switching mousepads (kind of ironic since the laser is supposed to track better on all surfaces. I have found that using a smooth mouse pad as opposed to a cloth one yields the best results for me. I like my MX1000 and have had no real problems with it, however I hate the setpoint software. I used to to be able to use the middle mouse button to open windows explorer. I can no longer do that now. Also the horizontal scroll does not work in Opera- that was disappointing as well.
