I have a Dell Dimension 8300 that currently has 512 PC2700 333MHz memory. I want to add another gig, but both Dell's and Crucial's web sites list both PC2700 and PC3200 is available for my computer. I would obviously like the PC3200 memory, but will it work with the slower memory already in the computer? On top of that how do I know if my MB even supports PC3200? Dells don't come with much in the way of documentation. I am guessing Dell's site wouldn't let me buy memory that wouldn't work in my computer.
Thanks for any help.

Adding memory to a Dell 8300
For motivation and so Jeff V can make me look bad:
2010 Totals: Biking: 65 miles Running: 393 miles
2009 Finals: Biking: 93 miles Running: 158 miles (I know it sucked, but I had a hernia most of the year)

Thanks Jeff, I took to your warning to heed and ordered PC2700
. I figured I was better off with 1.6 gig of flower memory than just one gig of fast memory. Hope that was a wise decision.
Got to love Crucial, ordered it today and it will be here tomorrow thanks to reasonably cheap next day air.
