Good news, everyone!

Image

Good news on several fronts! First, any imperial protectors out there don't have to worry about getting Han-blocked anymore. Also, Greedo (if present) can shoot with impunity. Why? Because Scoop was Han. How do I know that, you ask? Well, as it happens my lard butt is Jabba, and I was amongst those who voted for him.

So I gots my free scan last night. I thought about posting about that and asking, but I figured that would've gotten my butt lynched or silenced by Leia. I scanned Newcastle, since he was showing up on several peoples' suspect list, and since he was on the CR train. And guess what? Turns out Newcastle was Scoop's favorite broad:

Image

Yup, Newcastle is Princess Leia.

So we could shoot or lynch Newcastle. Shooting would allow us to use our lynching to get more information (since we didn't get new information from the Scoop lynch, other than my Jabba powers). Of course, shooting is also useful for taking out Chewbacca or Lando. For the moment, anyways, I'm putting my vote on  Newcastle

.

I'm trying to think of a way to prove this. First, you can see if anyone else comes forward as Jabba (which won't happen, since I am he). Second, there's factoring in that Newcastle was already acting fishy. Other than that, if you kill Newcastle he'll come back rebel, and me I'll come back imperial, so you can pick between those methods of proof.

So yeah! A nice break for us. And now having used up the entirety of my powers, I guess I'll retire from the gangster life and become an imperial guard.

Suddenly there is buzzing sound coming from somewhere in the room. Instantly recognizing the noise, chaos erupts. A syringe sized bot comes whizzing through the air and heads straight for Remus. Before anyone can do anything other than yell the bot slams into the back of Remus's head and then there is a bright flash. Remus crumples to the floor stunned. The bot falls to the floor its powercell drained.
That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad.

I guess that's not terribly surprising - use the ability or lose it, I suppose. And maybe they think (due to a scanner?) that Remus is a shooter.

But in any event, I don't think I could ask for better proof for my claims. I name Newcastle as Leia, and what do you know, the rebels just happen to pick that moment to use Leia's ability.

I'm working off the idea that El Guapo is indeed Jabba.

First, Remus is clearly not Rebel, they can't stun a rebel - and yes, he's likely a shooter or Vader.

Second, I think we should look for a few clues from what we now know...

Rebels will be on the early run up of CR (when Scoop was first at N-1), they wanted the tide to shift toward CR.

Triggercut is also proven from yesterday's scrum- and we know that he was in on that CR witch-hunt. Rebels would be using him as slight cover, I would suspect.

Rebels may be very gently against Lynching Scoop - and for Shooting him.

With El Guapo, that would give us 3 currently trusted players. Remus, either too dangerous, or holding info they don't want out.

I can understand why Lassr.

I have to ask why Grund's still alive, though. It is Day 3, after all.

That said, I can get behind a Newcastle vote. Nicely done, El Guapo.

The other possibility with Remus (other than him being a shooter and the rebels having scanned him) is that he was already pretty trusted from his activity re: the Scoop / CR trains. The drawback to Leia's ability is that it gives us a proven. By shooting Remus who was almost proven already, they minimize the harm from that (compare that to if they had shot, say, tru1cy or Grund, assuming for this hypothetical that one or the other is imperial).

fascinating....i am empire, and i will continue to claim that until i am until i am blue in the face. And death will prove that.

Fascinating play El Guapo...fascinating. Why me? Why come out and claim i am leia...nice bit of theatrics there zinging remus to prove that leia is in the game? But why target me? Care to answer that?

I am not leia...and el guapo must surely be a rebel....but which one?

And why claim Jabba El guapo? Along with a neat claim that scoop = han. Intersting play...very interesting.

I'd advise not to vote for him...since i am afraid he'd go boom. In fact i'd suggest that we wait until nightfall to see who survives the night..but i am pretty certain i will survive tonight. If i survive this frame job.

So elguapo...who might you be? Eh? Leia? Chewie? Han?

Guapo came out with zero votes against him. Why would he spoof a role in that case? He'd be a guaranteed lynch tomorrow if he were lying.

think about this though proner...how close are the rebels to victory? Seriously, think about that? We dont know? They could easily plot a rush vote...and today could in theory be our end day (i just crunched some numbers....and we have 17 left right? we take out an imperial today...we could be up the creek). I am just saying we are pretty close to losing if they have hte max amount of rebels...it was 9 right? -1 for scoop...would mean 8.

right now i am trying to think of why they would do this....is guapo a boomer? What does Remus being silenced have to do with it? Are they trying to swing the vote? I know he said he was looking at me. In fact i am pretty sure that lassr said at some point that he suspected me as well......

but why guapo come out? He wasn't on the cusp or anything? COule he be r2? Or be a boomer?

Let me re-iterate...i am imperial.

here's the other thing. I already look guilty as hell for killing off our emperor..not literally but i sure as hell was wearing a choo choo hat that day. I think it would be easy as hell to get me lynched, especially if people suspect me already.

I've died over the same.

As for the Jabba/Leia thing, the timing certainly could be considered suspicious. If a rebel were to out Leia, a role that by no means is guaranteed in the game, then the power is immediately used. Guapo could easily be a rebel with a coordinated attack.

Or it could be way too many people up and about in the forums in the evening. I'm interested to see how this one plays out, especially so I can take my mind off of my tonsillitis. :pop:

And, logically, it makes no sense for the Rebels to out one of themselves to go after a player who may have wound up getting lynched on his own due to his Day 1 play.

Also, Leia proving Remus as being Empire is strange, especially with all his sniping with triggercut.

Well, good that Newcastle isn't playing dead, I suppose (not that I expected him too). Anyhow, his proposed theory appears to be that the rebels, under no pressure at the start of the day, throw one of their members (me) to the lynch mob for free AND use up Leia's power AND prove Remus in the process, in order to get one imperial who hasn't been the subject of a train yet.

I guess that's the best theory he could come up with under the circumstances, anyhow.

So, El Guapo comes out and says "Newcastle is Princess Leia. I'm not sure how to prove that, but I'm telling you that it's so."

Interesting.

I'm not sure what exactly happened at the end of Day 2, but bb2112 seemed pretty gleeful. To wit:
bb2112 wrote: OMG, THIS IS AWESOME!!!
My thoughts then were: "One of the unlikely conditionals in the game got triggered by something that happened." Then we just heard El Guapo make his claim, unprompted, to start the day.

That was posted without prompting at the start of the day.

Now then. El Guapo asks us if anyone can think of a way for him to prove the truth of his claims. Who, might you ask, was the player who specifically came up with a way for me to prove that I am Count Dooku yesterday?

That player was Remus West.

Remus was silenced today. Leia used her daytime power for the first time in the game.

...and did so, immediately after Newcastle was identified as being in the holy order of the golden bikini.

In other words, everything that happened in the first part of the morning of Day 3 is consistent with El Guapo telling the truth. Nothing is inconsistent.

So.

Newcastle, I'm posting this to tell you that you're going to die today. You won't see night of Day 3.

Get your affairs in order.

But--I'd prefer to see you taken out more messily than just a lynch vote. I'd prefer to save that for your rebel comrades, RMC or Isgrimnur. Entirely possible that Lassr and stessier and/or Remus are our daytime killers. We may not have a daytime "shot" today.

Maybe we do, though. If so, I'm in favor of holding off on a Newcastle vote in order to give folks a chance to check in and maybe get Newcastle taken out by means other than a vote today.

The Rebel List:

Scoop (dead)
Newcastle (trying really hard to hide that his boobs are setting off the metal detectors)

RMC
Isgrimnur

Worth noting: if El Guapo is to be believed (and I think he is), then that means that one of our remaining Rebels is a completely unpowered player--R2 is alive and kicking and has already shot his wad for the game.

The only thing I did, was stay on he CR train, and not jump onto the Scoop train. <shrug> I explained that and will not keep harping on what I did. We have what I consider a sure fire thing with Newcastle, as I see no reason for El Gaupo to lie. If Newcastle is not rebel, then El Gaupo is the next target for Lynch.

Rulez question for bb2112 (or anyone else who found a clarification elsewhere):

I see the list of player actions at night and the order in which they are resolved. Are the rebels able to act that same night based on information received when choosing their kill?

All night actions happen in order, but are simultaneous. There is not a waiting period to see how each action resolves before the next action is taken.
