Correct me if im wring, but i th8nk we discussed this here before and the general consensus was that raw milk is actually bad for you right?
We did - on the other side of the fence in the infectious disease thread. There is no nutritional benefit to drinking raw milk; there is only added risk. I can't say I recall politicians posting on social media pictures of themselves drinking milk potentially contaminated with feces so I figured it was a good use of this thread.
I am also genuinely hoping there is a followup article this weekend with those that participated. Maybe like this one.

Funny quote from that article you shared:

Ok. I apologize if this was already answered in the ither thread.
1. Is there any true benefit to drinkning raw milk atcall? If so, what in layman's terms.
2. If 1 is no, whats the worst realistic common thing that can happen? Im not talking about something like death unless its actually a high percentage.
IE. Desth is in 2% of all cases and bloody moses is in 45% of all cases. In this, the bloody nose would be the m9st commin worst symptoms because its more likely even though death is more severe. Lets say a ranking on things thst are 15% or higher nut we can mention things lower with a note that they are less common.
3. If yhe answr to 1 is no then why the big desire to make it legal in thevfirst place?
4. Whichvside is pushing this? Dems, Reps, or both?
5. Is this basically cow>bottle>market. nothing in between each step?

I'll leave the health questions to Smoove. As for #4, it's both: anti-government, anti-regulation Republicans and the all-natural, anti-processed food types who lean Democratic.
If we look back to just before World War II, in 1938, it was estimated that milkborne outbreaks constituted 25% of all disease outbreaks (related to food/water) in the United States. ... Today, tuberculosis is a forgotten disease in the United States because of the success of eradication programs and the implementation of milk pasteurization.
...
During pasteurization, there is no significant change in the nutritional quality of milk.16 Pasteurization does not cause any change in protein quality; minor levels (<7%) of denaturation of whey proteins have been reported due to pasteurization, but protein denaturation has no impact on protein nutritional quality. Pasteurization does not cause any change in the concentrations of minerals; minerals are very heat stable. Pasteurization may cause very minor losses (<10%) of vitamin C, folate (vitamin B9), vitamin B12, vitamin B6, and thiamine (vitamin B1). Of these vitamins, milk is an excellent source of only vitamin B12
...
One of the claims made about raw milk is that it alleviates lactose intolerance. A recent randomized controlled study found that raw milk failed to reduce lactose malabsorption or lactose intolerance symptoms compared with pasteurized milk among adults positive for lactose malabsorption.
...
Some media reports claim that raw milk is healthy because of the presence of “good bacteria.” ... key probiotic bacteria like Bifidobacteria or Lactobacillus acidophilus should be present only at quite low levels in raw bovine milk, as they do not compete well with the more common types of lactic acid bacteria. Instead Bifidobacteria are found at high numbers in the gastrointestinal tract of cows and humans, and the presence of Bifidobacteria in raw milk has been used as possible indicator of fecal contamination. When probiotic cultures are used in commercial products like yogurt, it is considered highly desirable that (a) the specific probiotic strain used was originally isolated from a human source (not from animals like cows), and (b) the specific strain conveys proven health benefits when used at high levels (ie, millions of colony forming units per milliliter). None of these conditions are met with any fecal contamination of raw milk by probiotic bacteria.

Hey, I just started buying that same brand recently. They offer two versions: raw (yellow) and white (pasteurized). I was going to try the yellow at some point, until I read this thread.
It is delicious milk, though. 10x better than the typical grocery store milk. And you can recycle the bottle with the store (Lowe’s Foods in my case).
It’s surprisingly cheap (with the bottle refund) considering how much better it is than even the best stuff on the shelf (IMO).
Edit: nvm, mine is from a different farm…same bottle though, and they also offer a raw milk option.

From my travels online and creeping around the darkest corners of social media, I've come to learn that there are local pet stores selling this:
Because it's raw milk labeled for dogs, it can be sold retail and apparently people are purchasing and using it for human consumption. Which I guess shouldn't surprise me given the use of pet store fish antibiotics and of course anti-parasite meds.
So much freedom.

If you think about these people as surviving off of pet supplies, it starts to click regarding their deep desire for a dictator that makes them feel totally unleashed.

Totally agree. Any time I see that he is in a clip, I get excited to listen to what truth he lays down.
I still wish he stuck with his musings on calling every GOPer a 'Banana Republican'

Is he under the impression that magnetic waves work the same as electricity? I honestly have no clue what the hell he's trying to say otherwise.

Maybe he was thinking magnates? Although I'm not sure any of those are small enough to fit in a glass of water.

I found a bit more on it. Apparently he was talking about cost overruns on an aircraft carrier.
At a recent rally in Mason City, Iowa, the former president went on a rant about the frailty of magnets while complaining about the Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier.
Simply put: The ship has an electromagnetic aircraft launch system that relies on very large magnets.
"They had a $900 million cost over on these stupid electric catapults that didn't work. They had almost a billion dollar cost over on the magnetic elevators," he said. "Think of it, magnets. Now all I know about magnets is this: Give me a glass of water, let me drop it on the magnets, that's the end of the magnets."
That is, of course, not how magnets work. They work just fine underwater.
That does nothing to diminish the stupidity of his belief that water disables magnetism though.

Presumably he thinks rubber bands would have been cheaper and less expensive? He's right about both, assuming he doesn't care if planes actually make it off the carrier.
This is such a dumb argument. It's basically complaining that brand new technology is less reliable than 75-100 year old technology! Welcome to modern warfare.

Are you referring to Trump's hatred of magnets and their assumed inability to work when wet? Or the linked article I put in my post which states that there does seem to be a reliability issue with EMALS? The former has little to do with the latter.

His argument as it relates to the latter. There are issues because it's new tech. That's not abnormal. It's the first ship in a brand new carrier class. They are working out problems.
Former President Donald Trump shared a bizarre fan-made video on Truth Social, which declared that he was divinely chosen to lead the country.
"And on June 14, 1946, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, 'I need a caretaker.' So God gave us Trump," the video starts.
The narrator goes on to frame Trump as a messianic figure who was created by God to "fight the Marxists" and "call out the fake news for their tongues as sharp as a serpent's.
That's been making the rounds on sites since its release. It's truly baffling how anyone can watch that and not cringe. But Trumpers watch it and immediately try to figure out where Trump hides his angel wings.

I'm sure the faithful will say that he doesn't need to be righteous to be sent by god. Look at David. In fact, I remember when Trump was running and that was the exact argument many of his apologists made when it came to his philandering, slumlording, greed, rapey ways, etc. "Hey, god's divine sword of MAGA doesn't have to be perfect. Look at David!"

Oh, yes. We all saw that and cringed.
The tell is that they're completely unwilling to even consider the notion that their religious commitments are being exploited by a lifelong conman. Think back to the 2016 campaign when Trump failed every test of religious fidelity (from "Two Corinthians" to "grab them by the pussy") and the faithful still accepted that he was God's chosen candidate.
I grew up with these people. I was entirely unsurprised when they decided to slather their heavenly aspirations all over their most worldly hatreds and greeds.
Fascists in Italy commemorating the killing of teenagers in 1978 by gathering and saluting.
Rome, Italy, 2024.
State shame. #AccaLarentia
From the Wiki page:
Five teenagers of the Youth Front, the youth wing of the Italian Social Movement, a far-right and neo-fascist party, were ambushed while leaving the local party headquarters, and two of the teens (13 years old and 17 years old) were killed. The killings caused riots that same day, in which another MSI sympathiser was killed in clashes with police. Commemorations for the Acca Larentia killings take place each year and are controversial. As of 2024, opposition parties said such displays of pro-fascist sentiment was outlawed and demanded an investigation.

If that was for me. I never said anyth8ng about facism.
I'm talking about comments both of them have been quoted on in general. Things that make no sense or are factually wrong. I dont really know how much of things is purely them or purely speech writers but either way it bothers me.
